The massive flash flood, triggered by the collapse of a glacier at a higher elevation, swept through Nepal's Bhote Koshi River on Wednesday morning, affecting three districts -- Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading. On the same day, the Nepalese government announced that, in accordance with relevant laws, it decided to designate some local administrative units in the disaster-stricken areas as disaster crisis areas for a period of three months, in order to concentrate relief resources, strengthen personnel management, and promote post-disaster recovery work.
