Bamako, Mali - May 07, 2026 Islamist JNIM militias have imposed a blockade on the Malian capital Bamako, with media reports indicating that dozens of trucks have been burned on roads leading into the city. The disruption has significantly affected movement and logistics in and around the Malian capital. A spokesperson for JNIM said all vehicles and individuals would be prohibited from entering the city except those assigned specific tasks. The statement also warned against any cooperation with the Malian army.
