VARIOUS OF DEMOLISHED BUILDING AND SURROUNDINGNABATIEH, LEBANON - SEPT. 7, 2026: The Israeli military struck a house in Bir al-Zahrani in southern Lebanon less than 30 minutes after issuing an evacuation warning on Monday, Sept. 7. Homeowner Abbas Tufayle said the Israeli military contacted him at around 2.30 a.m. local time and ordered him to evacuate the property. Tufayle said he immediately fled his home in fear after receiving the warning. The house was struck less than half an hour later and reduced to rubble. Tufayle later returned to the site and inspected his belongings among the debris. The attack came amid continued Israeli strikes on towns and villages in southern Lebanon despite a ceasefire. Israel has carried out attacks on Lebanon since March 2, killing 4,362 people and injuring 12,378 others while displacing more than 1 million people, according to Lebanese authorities. Israel continues to occupy areas of southern Lebanon, including territory it has held for decades and other areas occupied during the 2023-2024 conflict, while its forces have advanced more than 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) into Lebanese territory during the current conflict.
