Lebanon: Israeli airstrikes kill at least 16 in south Lebanon.

Lebanon's civil defense authorities said Saturday that Israeli airstrikes on the southern districts of Nabatieh and Jezzine killed at least 16 people, after attacks the previous day had left at least 47 dead and 97 others injured nationwide. Rescue teams continued searching the rubble for survivors, the authorities added. The Lebanese army said the same day on social media platform X that Israel's "barbaric attacks" were still underway, with the latest escalation spreading across much of the south and reaching Bekaa Valley in east Lebanon, causing further casualties and property damage. One Lebanese soldier was killed in the strikes, according to the Lebanese army.
