PEOPLE LEAVINGROME, ITALY - JULY 16, 2026: The Global Nobel Laureates Assembly on Artificial Intelligence and Nuclear War concluded on Thursday, July 16, with the signing of the Rome Declaration on an Unarmed and Disarming Peace. The three-day summit, held at the Campidoglio in Rome after opening at the Borgo Laudato si' in Castel Gandolfo, brought together more than 200 Nobel laureates, leading experts and representatives of international research institutions working in the fields of peace and artificial intelligence. Among those attending the closing day were 2021 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Maria Ressa, 2006 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Muhammad Yunus, Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri, Cardinal Silvano Maria Tomasi, former Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi and U.S. actress and humanitarian activist Sharon Stone. The closing session featured remarks by actress and humanitarian activist Sharon Stone before participants signed the Rome Declaration, which calls for an unarmed and disarming peace in the age of artificial intelligence and nuclear weapons.
