The Palestinian Red Crescent Society identified the victim as 33-year-old Nihad Riyad Arouq. The strike injured several others, including children, according to a medical source at Al Shifa Hospital. The dead and injured were taken to Al Shifa Hospital, while medical and civil defense teams were dispatched to the scene. Witness Ziya Aliywa said Arouq, a fisherman known as Abu Mohammed, was arranging his fishing nets and filling water containers outside his tent after returning from the sea when the drone fired a missile at the shelter. Aliywa said Arouq's son had also been killed in an earlier Israeli attack and questioned what threat a fisherman could have posed. Israeli air and artillery attacks killed four Palestinians across Gaza on Thursday as Israeli forces expanded areas under their control in eastern Gaza City, according to Palestinian medical and local sources. Israeli attacks have killed 1,123 Palestinians and injured 3,616 others since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, 2025, according to Gaza's Health Ministry.
