FACILITY BEING STRUCKSCRIPT The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said it targeted a submarine and ship maintenance facility in Iran using armed unmanned aerial vehicles in a maritime combat operation for the first time. CENTCOM said in a statement on social media that its forces carried out a successful attack using multiple one-way drones. According to the command, three Corsair unmanned aircraft struck the harbor at the Bandar Abbas Naval Base. CENTCOM said the operation marked the first use of maritime unmanned aircraft by US forces in combat operations. The command also released footage of the attack and claimed that the strike had weakened Iran’s ability to carry out attacks against commercial vessels.
