Sacrificial animal sellers took their places at markets established by the municipality across the Iranian capital, where sheep and other small livestock were offered for sale. Eid al-Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is one of the most important Islamic holidays, commemorating the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son in obedience to God.
