Kate Hudson, who starred in the original alongside Matthew McConaughey, is attached to produce the project, which is currently in the early development stages. According to Variety, the Paramount filmmaking team hopes Hudson and McConaughey will reprise their roles from the original, however, their casting will reportedly depend on the script. The project is currently seeking a screenwriter and several other key creative roles have yet to be filled, a source told the publication. Alongside Hudson, Pulp Fiction producer Stacey Sher is on board to produce the sequel via her Shiny Penny company.
