Türkiye's Ambassador to Greece Cagatay Erciyes welcomed foreign diplomats, defense attaches, and mission staff to the embassy residence. Ambassador Erciyes read a commemorative message from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and highlighted how August 30 established lasting peace and paved the way for the Lausanne Peace Treaty. Speaking on bilateral ties, Erciyes emphasized that as close neighbors and NATO allies, Türkiye and Greece share common interests that far outweigh their differences. He stressed that the two countries can resolve ongoing issues through sincere, constructive dialogue grounded in international law and mutual respect for legitimate interests. Guests also observed a minute of silence for the victims of a passenger vessel that capsized off the port of Girne in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
