Greece: Acropolis Rally kicks off as 8th round of 2026 WRC season.

VARIOUS OF SPECTATORS WATCHING RALLY CARS DRIVING THROUGH STAGESBOEOTIA, GREECE - JUNE 26: The opening day of the EKO Acropolis Rally Greece, the eighth round of the 2026 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), saw drivers competing on the rocky dirt stages in Stiri village in Boeotia, on Friday, June 26. A cornerstone of rallying, the Acropolis Rally was first held in 1953. It became a founding member of the FIA World Rally Championship in 1973 and became renowned for its challenging tracks. During the 1970s, it regularly featured over 50 stages and more than 850 competitive kilometres. While the event was cancelled in 1974 due to the oil crisis and became part of the FIA Two Litre Cup tour in 1995, it remained a mainstay of the WRC until 2010. In 2005 the Acropolis was named Rally of the Year following a hugely successful super special stage in a packed Olympic Stadium in Athens. The Acropolis Rally Greece will take place from June 26 to 29 across challenging gravel stages in Greece.
