Germany: Tens of Thousands Join Rave The Planet Techno Parade in Berlin.

Berlin, Germany - August 15, 2026 Tens of thousands of people take part in the Rave The Planet techno parade along the Strasse des 17 Juni in central Berlin on Saturday, August 15, 2026. The fifth edition of the annual parade, held under the slogan Imagine Love, brought crowds of ravers and electronic music fans to the route between the Brandenburg Gate and the Victory Column for a demonstration promoting peace, diversity, freedom, solidarity and the protection of electronic music culture. The event began with a minute of silence for the victims of the attack near the Christopher Street Day celebrations in Berlin three weeks earlier, in which one person was killed and dozens were injured. Around 1,500 police officers were deployed for Rave The Planet amid heightened security measures that included road barriers, restricted access points, a police helicopter and drones. With temperatures reaching the mid 30s Celsius, police also used a water cannon to spray a cooling mist over dancing crowds gathered near the Victory Column. Founded by Loveparade pioneer Dr Motte and organized as a public demonstration rather than a conventional music festival, Rave The Planet continues the tradition of bringing electronic dance music onto the streets of the German capital. Organizers had said they expected as many as 300,000 participants over the course of the day, with hundreds of international artists and DJs appearing on music trucks and floats throughout the parade.
