The event, organized by the General Directorate of Cinema under Türkiye’s Culture and Tourism Ministry in cooperation with the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), brought together international producers, directors, festival executives, sales agents and Turkish actors at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes. Participants were introduced to Türkiye’s filming locations ranging from Istanbul to Cappadocia, as well as the country’s technical production capabilities and growing co-production opportunities. General Director of Cinema Birol Guven said the Turkish cinema and television sector had evolved into “a major industry exporting production power to the world.” “Türkiye is no longer only attractive because of its natural filming locations, but also because of its technical infrastructure, experienced crews and strong production capacity,” he said. Guven said foreign production companies previously arrived in Türkiye with large equipment convoys, but now came with much smaller teams because the country already offered advanced technology, studio infrastructure and post-production facilities. “Türkiye is a safe harbor. Come and shoot your films in Türkiye,” he said. Actor Engin Altan Duzyatan said Türkiye possessed significant advantages for international productions due to its geography, technical infrastructure and cultural diversity. “I hope we will see major international co-productions in coming years,” he said. Actor Ozge Gurel described Türkiye as “a natural film set,” saying every city offered different stories and visual atmospheres for filmmakers. The event also featured presentations on Türkiye’s incentive system, production processes and technical capabilities at the Cannes Film Market.
