.BOGOTA, COLOMBIA - MAY 10, 2026: After battling cancer and a brain tumor for more than ten years, former Colombian vice president and former minister Germán Vargas Lleras died on May 8 at the age of 64. His funeral ceremonies are being held at the Bolívar Hall of the San Carlos Palace, headquarters of Colombia’s Foreign Ministry, where relatives, close associates, political leaders, and citizens have gathered to pay tribute and bid him a final farewell.
