Various of swollen river Storyline China's weather authorities have issued yellow alerts for heavy rain and severe convective weather in the coming days, warning that downpours will affect much of southern and eastern China. The National Meteorological Center issued the yellow alerts at 18:00 on Monday, forecasting that parts of Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangxi, and other regions will see heavy to torrential rainfall from Monday through Tuesday afternoon. Over the next three days, strong rainfall is expected to persist across southern China, regions south of the Yangtze River, and the Jianghan Plain, while thunderstorms are expected across northern China and the northeast. The public is advised to stay updated on the latest warnings and exercise caution when traveling. National emergency management authorities have also highlighted that the main rain belt in the coming days will largely overlap with areas affected by earlier downpours, raising the risk of flash floods, geological disasters, and urban and rural waterlogging. Local officials have been directed to step up patrols of high-risk sites near mountains and rivers and to relocate residents from vulnerable areas in advance to minimize danger.
