Aerial shots of platform, Kenli 10-2 oilfield Storyline The phase I of Kenli 10-2 oilfield, China's largest offshore lithologic oilfield, went into full production on Wednesday, according to China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC). The oilfield, located in the southern waters of the Bohai Sea, has proven geological reserves exceeding 100 million tons with a daily crude oil output of over 2,800 tons. The oilfield lies in waters about 20 meters in depth, but presents substantial technical challenges due to its complex heavy oil composition. The successful full-scale commissioning of Phase I of the Kenli 10-2 oilfield cluster marks the start of a new era for the development of complex offshore heavy oil reservoirs in China, which provides crucial support to ensure stable and growing production at the Bohai Oilfield -- the country's largest offshore crude oil production base.
