Storyline China's construction machinery exports see robust growth in Q1 New data from the China Construction Machinery Association shows the country's construction machinery exports surpassed 16 billion U.S. dollars in the first quarter of the year. The data shows that exports of things like crawler excavators, off-highway mining dump trucks, and electric forklifts and lifting platforms have grown rapidly. The top destinations for China's construction machinery in Q1 included Africa which imported 2.8 billion U.S. dollars, Europe, which imported 3.1 billion and North America, which imported 1.1 billion worth of Chinese machinery. The head of the CMA says the rapid growth in exports in Q1 was partly due to stable international market demand, but also because of performance and technology upgrades that make China's construction machinery widely recognized overseas. Su Zimeng, head, China Construction Machinery Association: "In 2026, China's construction machinery industry has continued to make progress in intelligent, green, and integrated development. The technology, products, and services of construction machinery manufactured in China are increasingly able to meet the needs of the international market. The industry's total trade exports are expected to maintain steady growth." China's construction machinery export sector grew from nearly 21 billion U.S. dollars in 2020 to nearly 61 billion U.S. dollars last year. [Restrictions: No access Chinese mainland]
