The drivers called for changes to the rule allowing stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Protest organizer Zijad Saric said the drivers hoped the EU would take positive steps to address the issue. Saric said professional drivers wanted to perform their jobs and had no intention of remaining permanently in the EU or posing a security threat. The protesters said the permitted period was insufficient for them to complete their work and could negatively affect local transport companies. They also voiced opposition to the EU’s Entry/Exit System, which took effect in October 2025. Similar demonstrations were held by truck drivers in Serbia, Montenegro and North Macedonia.
