VARIOUS OF CROWDS WATCHING GRAN PODER PARADE FROM MAKESHIFT BLEACHERSLA PAZ, BOLIVIA - AUGUST 1, 2026: The Senor Jesus del Gran Poder procession was held in La Paz, Bolivia, on Saturday, Aug. 1, bringing together faith, music and folklore. Participants filled the streets of La Paz with traditional costumes, music and dance during the celebration. More than 70 dance troupes and tens of thousands of dancers and musicians took part in the procession. The massive celebration is one of Bolivia’s most important cultural and religious events. The event was declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2019.
