Two dead, multiple injured after shooting on FSU campus; one suspect in custody

But we saw people downstairs

Authorities say multiple people were injured in a shooting on Florida State University's campus Thursday

and a person is in custody following the incident. Police have not released details on the suspect or how the shooting unfolded

but it reportedly happened in the student union. One student describes his experience

Just sitting down doing my work and the alarm goes off. And first you're thinking it's just a fire alarm

It sounds a little different though. And I'm just saying active shooter

You kind of just like panic a little bit in the moment. Just like, damn, is that real

Like, it's like a little bit to process it. Then you get to your safe area. I went to a little cubby space and then you just look down at your phone, look at the news and like start to process it

Like, damn, people just got shot a couple feet away from me. People could be seen fleeing campus as the FBI and several other law enforcement agencies rushed to the scene

I don't really know how to describe it. It's just like, wow. I never really expected to be in a situation like this

You always see it on the news. Being in it is definitely different, but I don't know

I'm probably going to have to take a little minute to process it, but it's just like, wow. I just feel bad with people that did get injured

It's like, man, that could have been me. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis shared a post on social media saying our thoughts and prayers

are with our FSU family and state law enforcement. President Trump said he was briefed on the situation and commented on the incident at the White House

It's a shame. Horrible thing. Horrible that things like this take place

And we'll have more to say about it later. In response to the shooting, FSU canceled all classes Thursday and all home sporting events through Sunday
