strikes on iran claiming it hit a facility that makes uranium centrifuges and another

used for missile components all while intercepting 10 missiles fired from iran overnight

Iran's supreme leader, the same one President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu

have openly suggested assassinating, fueling talk of regime change, responded online, vowing no mercy and promising a strong response

And now growing signs the United States could be drawn in. President Trump posted on Truth Social demanding Iran's unconditional surrender

and claiming, quote, we now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran

But it's unclear if we means the United States, Israel, or both

Officially, the State Department insists the U.S. is not involved in Israel's strikes inside Iran

Still, Donald Trump met with his national security team in the White House Situation Room on Tuesday

and multiple reports say he considering joining Israel in targeting Iran nuclear sites though that not confirmed On Capitol Hill lawmakers in both parties are trying to slow down the march to war

Republican Congressman Thomas Massey has introduced a resolution under the War Powers Act to block U.S. strikes

He was joined by co-sponsor Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna. No Republicans, by the way, are with him

And Democratic Senator Tim Kaine is leading a similar effort demanding Trump get approval from Congress before taking military action unless the U.S. is responding to an imminent threat

But GOP Senate leader John Thune says it's too soon and the goal is still getting Iran to end its nuclear program

Another flashpoint in California as a federal appeals court considers whether President Trump overstepped his authority by deploying the California National Guard

The White House says 2,000 troops are now headed to Los Angeles

U.S. Northern Command says the troops are there to protect federal property and personnel, not engage in law enforcement

The deployment is part of the same contingent ordered last week, meaning technically no new troops, but a reinforcement of the mission

The total now includes 4,100 National Guard members and 700 Marines already on the ground

It comes as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals heard arguments on Tuesday over California's legal challenge to Trump's order

which took control of the state's National Guard without Governor Gavin Newsom's consent

No ruling yet, but a lower court judge who previously ordered Trump to return control to California holds a follow-up hearing on Friday

That order is on pause for now, but could be extended. The stakes are high It the first time since 1965 a president has federalized a state guard without a governor approval Legal experts say the outcome could set a powerful precedent for presidential authority to deploy troops in American cities A dramatic scene at New York immigration court ICE agents arrested Bayoral candidate

and city controller Brad Lander Tuesday after he linked arms with a migrant facing deportation

Moments later, agents pry him away, shove him against a wall and handcuff him

A spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security says Lander assaulted a federal officer

though as of now, no charges have been filed. Later in the afternoon, Lander was released

He emerged to cheers from supporters who were joined by New York Governor Kathy Hochul

He denied assaulting anyone, saying he was simply standing in solidarity. Lander, a Democrat, is one of several elected officials arrested in recent weeks

while protesting the Trump administration's crackdown on immigration across the country. A federal judge has blocked the Trump administration from enforcing its passport policy

on transgender and non-binary Americans, calling it unconstitutional. The State Department had been denying passports that reflect gender identity

instead requiring applicants to use their sex assigned at birth, per a Trump executive order

But Judge Julia Kobik in Boston ruled the policy discriminates based on sex and is, quote, rooted in irrational prejudice

She has now granted class action status, meaning the ban is blocked for all transgender, non-binary and intersex applicants nationwide while the lawsuit plays out

Trump officials say the policy is about biological accuracy The ACLU calls it a major win for equal rights Another reprieve for TikTok President Trump is extending the deadline again for its Chinese parent company to sell Congress passed

a law back in January to ban TikTok, citing national security concerns, claiming China

could access sensitive personal data through the app. President Biden signed it into law

but when Donald Trump took office, he delayed enforcement. Now he's doing it a third time

giving ByteDance another 90 days to strike a deal. Trump says he doesn't want TikTok to go dark

and the White House plans to use the time to finalize a sale. But the big holdup? The ongoing

trade war with China. A deal was nearly announced in April until Beijing told ByteDance to back off

after the U.S. imposed new tariffs. Lawmakers on both sides are growing impatient, saying TikTok

should be banned unless China is completely out. Finally this morning, history repeated itself last

night in the National Hockey League as the Florida Panthers defeated the Edmonton Oilers for the

second year in a row to win the Stanley Cup. Sam Reinhart scored four goals for the Panthers as

they routed the Oilers 5-1. Reinhart is the same guy who scored the winning goal in last year's

series, so you could say he has the Oilers number. The celebration is one of the coolest parts. Get

this, it takes 16 wins and four series against four different teams and roughly two months to

win hockey's holy grail. It truly is a grind. The Florida Panthers are the kings of the hockey world
