Nebraska nursing home resident forms Taylor Swift fan club, hopes to meet pop superstar

You have to remember I'm 95. I've met a lot of people. They're all good people

But he still would like to meet one more. To say 95-year-old Frank Urias is a character

is an understatement. More like he's the life of the party at Remington Heights Retirement

Community in Omaha, Nebraska. My goal is to make sure that we are bound together

and love each other because we have such a short time ahead of us

About a month ago, he and Remington Heights occupational therapist Sarah Zyke were chatting about music

Sarah, a devoted Taylor Swift fan or Swifty, told Frank about her love of Swift songs and attending her concerts

It all started with the conversation. I was just excited about the new album

And so I was having him memorize when the album was gonna come out so we could have a listening party

Then he started bringing me little articles and Anytime Taylor was in the newspaper and then one day he surprised me with these buttons and Every in the community wanted the buttons and then it just kind of taken off from there Now it a movement Frank started listening to Taylor Swift music

reading about her history and rise to fame, and comparing notes with Sarah

They decided to write a card to the pop star, and it did not stop there

It's no longer just the two of you, now you have a whole fan club

Yes, we have a fan club and we have tried to keep it to a limited amount of people, but that's very hard to do

And this is what it has become. On a Friday morning, Frank shares a meeting of the Taylor Swift Fan Club

At least two dozen senior residents, most dressed in orange in anticipation of Swift's new album, The Life of a Showgirl, with buttons that say, I heart Taylor

chat about the number one item on their agenda, inviting the pop superstar to the nursing home

and what it's going to take to get her here. The bingo offer is an open invitation

Come play bingo Taylor The Taylor Swift theme is everywhere at Remington Heights including a makeshift tour bus near the front desk Frank is at the center of it all His wife of 70 years died six years ago

The loss still hurts, but all the hoopla surrounding Taylor Swift has helped fill the void

It's hard to explain the feelings you have for people because each one of us is different and we love each other and we're constantly doing things for

each other. Activities director Becky Schindler has been here for nearly two decades. There's just

so much positivity, the energy that everybody has lots of energy when they come to the dining room

come to our activities. Anytime in the building, it's just hopping around here and we see all of

the Taylor Swift buttons and a lot of orange in our building

Seeing that Taylor Swift is engaged to Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelsey

you might think Frank is just a little bit envious. The truth is he not In fact he a diehard Kansas City Chiefs fan and he got a story behind that too Maybe a year maybe a little longer Travis was running with the ball

I'm sitting in my chair, and he's trying to get into the end zone

So I give him a shove. I end up on the floor

My therapist is still working on my shoulder. Oh, my gosh. You could say Frank had to shake it off when it came to that injury

And if Taylor Swift ever did walk through these doors at this retirement home in eastern Nebraska
