International agency dismantles child abuse network on dark web, "Kidflix"

A major international operation dismantled one of the world's largest pedophile networks in the world

The European Union's law enforcement agency, Europol, was able to take down a platform called

KidFlix, a streaming service on the dark web home to more than 1.8 million users worldwide

where law enforcement says a hub of child sexual abuse images were distributed among users

Investigators say KidFlix was the host to more than 91,000 videos containing child sexual abuse

totaling more than 6,000 hours worth of abuse on film. About 3.5 new videos were being uploaded every hour before police were able to shut it down

Authorities were able to confiscate the central server of the platform containing 72,000 of the videos

Through the investigation, 1,400 suspects were identified. 79 suspects are already arrested and charged with distributing child sexual abuse material And German authorities working the case said they worked to identify child victims So far 39 children were protected through the operation

according to Europol. It was the largest operation ever coordinated by the law enforcement agency

spanning 35 countries, including Germany, Australia, Canada, and the U.S. German police

were able to confirm a serial abuser was busted in the United States, but limited details were

released on who that person was. KidFlix was created in 2021, allegedly by a cyber criminal

who made a huge profit, according to Europol, as it became one of the most popular platforms
