We begin this morning here in Omaha, where passengers from a cruise ship

at the center of a deadly Hantavirus outbreak have landed, touching down just hours ago

and headed into a high-security quarantine unit. You're looking here at video of the plane

arriving earlier this morning at Epley Airfield in Omaha. A convoy of police and medical vehicles then bringing those passengers to Nebraska Medicine

I headed there yesterday and was able to get video you see right here and pictures of the hospital where they will now be monitored and possibly treated

Things were pretty calm on the hospital campus before the big arrival

The patients are being taken and watched at the National Quarantine Unit, the only federally funded unit of its kind in the country

If anyone develops symptoms of Hantavirus, they can be moved immediately to the biocontainment unit in the same building for treatment

This is a look inside at the rooms where they will be staying. 17 Americans and one British national who lives in the United States were evacuated from the MV Hondias, which docked in the Canary Islands on Sunday

So far, one American has tested positive. Another is showing symptoms. A French passenger from that same cruise ship has also tested positive

Health officials say the virus is usually linked to rodents, but in this case, the World Health Organization believes it likely spread person to person on board

Since the outbreak started in mid-April, three people from the ship have died and several others have been infected

Iran is pushing back after President Trump rejected its latest peace proposal calling it totally unacceptable Iran foreign ministry says the offer was quote reasonable and generous

State media reports the proposal called for an end to the war and the U.S. naval blockade

which Iran described as maritime piracy. It also included demands to release frozen Iranian assets

recognize Iran's control of the Strait of Hormuz, and pay compensation for war damage

The proposal did not address Iran's nuclear program, a central issue for the United States

Trump dismissed the offer and accused Iran of playing games in a social media post

He also warned, quote, they will be laughing no longer without providing details

The rejection sent oil prices higher overnight. Brent crude climbed above $104 a barrel, while the U.S. benchmark pushed close to $100

In a related topic, the Trump administration says it's open to suspending the federal gas tax as prices climb

The national average now sits at $4.52 a gallon. That's up more than 50 percent since the war with Iran began

Drivers pay about 18 cents a gallon in federal taxes. Even if that tax is paused, prices would still stay well above pre-war levels

Oil flow through the Strait of Hormuz remains effectively blocked. That's tightening supply and keeping pressure on prices

The administration says it's looking at ways to bring costs down, but won't predict where prices go next

Here's Energy Secretary Chris Wright on NBC Sunday. All measures that can be taken to lower the price at the pump and lower the prices for Americans, this administration is in support of

You're saying that you, that President Trump, would be open to suspending the federal gas tax

We're open to all ideas. Everything has tradeoffs. All ideas to lower prices for American consumers and American businesses

Any gas tax holiday would require Congress to act. Wright said prices are likely to stay high until the conflict in Iran ends

He would not rule out prices hitting $5 a gallon before that happens

A week search for two missing American soldiers in Morocco has led to a recovery as the hunt continues for the second service member The Army has identified the soldier as 27 First Lieutenant Kendrick Lamont Key Jr of Richmond Virginia

Moroccan search teams found his body Saturday morning about a mile offshore near where he and another soldier fell into the Atlantic during an off-duty hike

Key was a platoon leader assigned to an air defense unit and was in Morocco for a large-scale military exercise

His remains are now being prepared for return to the United States

Meanwhile, the search continues for the second missing soldier. More than 1,000 personnel are involved using ships, aircraft, and divers to comb the area off the coast

Virginia Democrats are scrambling after a court loss and now weighing how far they're willing to go to get their map back

On Friday, the state Supreme Court threw out a congressional map voters had approved

Now top Democrats are trying to figure out what comes next and fast

The clock is ticking. State elections officials say any changes need to happen within days to avoid disrupting the August primary

Behind the scenes, Democratic leaders held a private call over the weekend

According to the New York Times, frustration was high and options were wide open

One idea getting attention and pushback is to lower the mandatory retirement age for Virginia's Supreme Court justices and force out the entire court

Supporters say it's about preserving the map voters already approved. In a statement to the Times, Virginia Democratic Congressman Suhas Subramaniam said, quote

We have Republican states ignoring their constitutions and interrupting early voting and ignoring their Supreme Courts altogether

We know based on that, Republicans would explore every single option possible to move this forward

House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries, who was on that call Saturday, is also signaling no limits

telling the Times, quote, It's unprecedented in American history, as far as we can tell

that an actual election has been overturned by a handful of unelected judges

We're not going to step back. We will continue to fight back. There is still no final plan Democrats say they reviewing legal options including a possible appeal while also trying to flip congressional seats in the midterms onto the current map if nothing changes

Finally this morning, the Pentagon is opening the files, releasing decades of reports on UFOs and UAPs for the public to see

More than 160 files, including photos, incident reports and witness accounts, are now posted on a Defense Department website

Many of the images were captured by military aircraft, showing unidentified objects moving through the sky

Some date back to 1969, including photos taken by Apollo astronauts during the moon mission

Others document reports of flying disks from the late 1940s through the 1960s

including the well-known Roswell incident in New Mexico. That case involved a crash and recovery of an unusual object

described at the time as having a hexagon shape with a ball and cable attached

Today, Roswell still marks that event with an annual UFO festival that draws thousands

Reminds me of going to the theater as a kid and seeing close encounters of the third kind
