It feels like it's been so long since we've done a prime time show, but y'all understand that the owner's meeting schedule was not necessarily

conducive to the prime time schedule. And given that there was a lot of work to be done in Palm Beach last week

that that was the approach that we were going to take. But we brought back a ton of different stuff, including a no doubt scenario

where you're drafting Cam Ward with the number one overall pick. And it seems that we just had the official conclusion of the

will they or won't they Cam Ward discussion take place before the weekend started

So we're going to get into the Titans canceling the Shador Sanders workout

and what that means for the future of this team. We'll also talk about the safest prospect in this draft class

and break down whether or not Cam Ward at number one overall

is in fact the safest draft prospect for the Titans, but it doesn't necessarily have to be for the Titans

It just means the safest prospect overall. Does Travis Hunter deserve a part in that conversation

That's something that we will definitely cover throughout the course of this evening's show

And Brian Callahan at the owners meetings talked about how far away they were from making a decision

some kind of definitive decision about the number one overall pick. He said about two weeks

And then, you know, things came to pass as they did. The Titans had a contingent at the Colorado Pro Day

and were scheduled for a private workout with Shador Sanders specifically. And then all of a sudden, Jimmy Wyatt from the TennesseeTitans.com

as you well know, Jimmy, the senior editor and insider for Titans.com

puts out this where the team canceled the private workout that was slated for April the 9th

with Shador Sanders, informing Shador that they felt they had sufficient information on him

after watching his college games and attending his pro day. So the Titans look around, they say

that's all good. We're all right with it. We feel like we're in a pretty good place with Shador

that we can go ahead and move forward. And you can assume any number of things

about why they did that. You can assume that it's a smokescreen. You can assume that the Titans told Shador Sanders and Deion

hey, we're probably not going to draft you number one overall. So if you don't feel like you want to go through

or have to go through this workout, don't worry about it. No hard feelings

We understand how these things go. Whatever assurances or whatever conversation was had

they ultimately determined that it wasn't worth everybody's time to have this pro day

with Shadur Sanders or this private workout because they had the pro day or what they called

What is the biggest takeaway that you had from the Titans canceling the pro day

Let's see. Record Spinner says they haven't said anything about the number one pick for sure at all

You're, he uses the incorrect you're. He says you're crooked as F, dude

Well I not sure why that makes me crooked other than you know I got a widow peak and maybe my hairline looks crooked from time to time But they haven said anything definitively uh he adds you and jim wyatt can kick rocks with your fake news reporting asses

interesting interesting perspective from the record spinner on facebook i i appreciate uh that

you are coming in here with your with the courage of your convictions you're also just displaying

your level of ignorance that the person, not even me, what you, you are entitled to feel about me

whatever you want to feel about, but like Jimmy Wyatt works for the team, Jim, by nature of the

team, signing his paychecks and approving what he puts out. Jim can't be fake news because it's news

from the team. Now it may not be all the news that you want because Jimmy has certain restrictions

And I know he's talked about this from time to time, but whatever you, you know, you're

entitled to feel however you want to feel about media or about reporting. And there's a lot of bullshit that comes around the draft time and free agency and all these

different things. But like the dumbest possible way and the most obvious way that you could have exposed

yourself is not knowing what the hell you're talking about is that saying Jim Wyatt and

fake news in the same sentence. Jimmy has never been fake news. He's been the best among us for his entire career, whether it was 11 years ago when he

was still at the Tennessee and or now when he actually works for the team and the team says

yeah Jimmy you can put that out that's it's just it's one of the dumbest comments I think I've ever

read but that's okay we uh we we appreciate all kinds in the comments even the dumb ones that come

here just to have their opinions be heard even though they have no idea what the hell they're

talking about in those particular situations uh cam ward loading is what that that means record

spinner says Curtis uh AC says spinner can sit and spin that's right uh Shadour stands down so

so horrible I mean not necessarily because listen the best possible thing we can get into the best

possible thing for Shadour here in just a second but you know from my perspective I don't think

that's bad for Shadour if if he falls and I'll explain more why later this is Jeremy Fowler on

ESPN talking about the top three and the direction that he thinks all three of these teams are getting

ready to head. Last three weeks away and senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler is with us. So what

are you hearing from the teams with the top three picks? Start at the Titans in number one, please

Yeah, Jay, the people I've talked to with other teams picking in the top 10 and people inside the

Titans organization do believe that Cam Ward, the Miami quarterback, will be the pick. They'd be

surprised if he's not. Now, the Titans have not made a firm determination. Their front office is

still going through the process. They would entertain a trade if they're wowed by one and

Teams could be falling in the next few weeks. But Ward has clearly separated himself as QB1 in this draft

I'm told the Titans have been very pleased with his process off the field, his demeanor

They feel like they've got along really well, have some chemistry. So all signs appear to be pointed that way, barring a surprise

Now, Cleveland Browns, they are mysterious right now, and I think they like to be. They're enjoying this process

I show Abdul Carter here because the Browns have spent a significant amount of time with Carter through the last few weeks of this process

He has felt the love, the connection with that team. So if time invested tells us anything, he could very well be the pick opposite Miles Garrett

But they have a shortlist. Shador Sanders is on it. Travis Hunter is on it

Mason Graham, the big defensive tackle for Michigan, is on it. Now let's go to the Giants

So a little bit different here. People I talked to that were at Colorado's showcase earlier this week said that they believe the Giants will take either Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter, whoever's there

Now, certainly they've done a lot of homework on the quarterbacks, including Shador Sanders

But a lot of teams I've talked to picking inside the top ten believe that they've kind of tipped their hand signing Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston

because they're pretty loaded up there on the veteran quarterback market. Will they add a draft pick, too

It's a long draft. Certainly day two, they could try to finagle and move around and get a passer as well

You mentioned veteran quarterbacks. So, segue to our Sunday morning Aaron Rodgers update

Where do things stand with him and the Steelers? It's not a show without it, Jay

so Aaron Rodgers I'm told from the Steelers they do remain optimistic but nothing has changed

all right there's nothing new about Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers we don't have to stick around

but the Steelers it's kind of crazy the way that they're being held hostage by Aaron Rodgers or

letting themselves be held hostage by Aaron Rodgers but you know maybe he'll end up working

out for them in the long term in the meantime uh before we get into the information that Fowler

Jeremy Fowler who again maybe uh the commenter earlier on Facebook thinks is also fake news

and I appreciate that you guys aren't willing to believe anything full stop with you know a little

less than three weeks to go for the draft I appreciate that skepticism you're right to have

it there's always unpredictable things about the draft but the thing that is indisputable about

this draft process is that the draft starts at two there is no conversation at one it is Cam Ward

at this point in time and if it's not they're going to be in a shit ton of trouble from their

fan base, whatever media says about them or whatever they choose to do, that doesn't matter

necessarily. But for you guys, they can't not draft this quarterback. Forgive the double negative

They cannot. They've spent too much time indirectly telling you that they're drafting

this quarterback. They cannot do anything but draft this quarterback unless, as we've talked

about, a huge offer out of the sky falls with two weeks to go, two weeks and change to go

workout tells us about the Tennessee Titans and their draft pick, Curtis says Cam Ward

or we riot. Clayton Smith says, give me the trade back. I want all the chaos

I think that, you know, while I'm understanding of that, Clayton, you know, I don't know if

you're, you may be a Titans fan. Most, most people in here are, I'd be confused as to why you're

watching this show if you weren't a Titans fan. But, like, ultimately, you don't want to do what's in the best interest of chaos

if you're a fan of the team. Now, maybe if I'm a media person, I'm fine with the best interest of chaos

because I've got three hours of radio. And locally, I'm now doing, you know, Fox Sports radio nationally on the weekends

And we don't talk about the Titans ever. So it's not like I've got to worry about that

But, you know, an hour of primetime, four days a week or whatever, the 615 Sessions podcast, the Greg Pod

all these different things like yeah it's better for me to have a little controversy and what it is

that I do for a living but it's not better for your football team ultimately unless it's the

right thing for the team so at the end of the day yeah the chaos element is fun for a minute but you

want your team to do what's in the best interest of the team and right now based on the current

roster construction that they have put themselves in what in the best interest of the team is drafting the quarterback unless an offer is so good that comes out of nowhere that you can say no to Whether or not there still time for that to take place sure

There is time. There's always time. There's time until we're officially on the clock and everybody's getting ready for the NFL to figure out how the hell they're going to weasel a commercial break into the Titans draft pick the way that they normally do when the Titans are picking number one overall

But that's just kind of where things are at right now. Derek says, I've been looking around the league and at least the other fan bases or at least the fan bases that like Ward, too, are really thinking we'll take a discount, that the Titans will take a discount

I have no idea what their price is. I know that that price has to include at least two first round picks, whether that's a first this year and a first next year

Or I don't know if any team, I don't think any team has two first round picks

In fact, I think all 32 teams currently have their original first round pick, which is a rare enough thing right now as the draft order stands

So you would be trading for a current first and a future first. But that's where the price has to start

Vols on YouTube says, is there any chance they take Abdul Carter at number one

Do you think? I personally think that's a better option. Just my opinion. And that's a fine opinion to have

He's arguably the best player in the draft. I do not think that they will take Abdul Carter at number one

I think it's Cam Ward or nothing. I really, really do. Well, it's Cam Ward or trade

It's not Cam Ward or nothing. It's Cam Ward or trade. I don't think there's any other option for them at number one overall right now if they

stick and pick. Gazarik, is that how I'm saying it on YouTube

Says, why take a discount when ESPN and other sports media hype up Ward if you trade for

a King's ransom, I assume is what he's trying to say there. Nobody's telling you to take a discount

In fact, everybody's telling you to do the opposite, take a discount, draft the quarterback

unless you get a good enough offer that makes you, makes you pull the trigger on that at this point

in time. So, uh, as you look at all the different things that are on the table, Cam Ward is probably

going to be the number one overall pick, but is he the safest prospect in this draft class? That's

something that we can talk about together here on the primetime program, right after I remind you

Cam Ward, number one overall pick, but does that make him the safest pick? There's reasons to

believe that that's not the case. Benjamin says, no, of course he's not the safest. Carter and a

couple of others have much higher draft profile ratings, and that's fine. He can be a better

prospect there can be better prospects without being the safest prospect better does not mean

the safest abdel carter has some injury stuff going on right now he's also got the assault

uh charge in his background how much of that was just you know him in the heat of the moment

arguing with somebody who was ticketing or towing his car um that you know what happened to so many

other people either way he's a famous football player he's he's got to know he's got to be more

self-aware than that and he let his anger get the best of him in that certain situation i don't think

teams care too much about that, but it is also something that's out there about him. You also

have Travis Hunter, who's an interesting conversation there. Travis Hunter is the

closest thing to a generational talent that you have in this draft class, but does that make him

the safest possible prospect? That was an interesting clip from the ESPN radio station

in Cleveland talking about Travis Hunter, because potentially the Browns could take Travis Hunter

and likely the Browns could take Travis Hunter at number two. There's only one negative whenever

it comes to Travis Hunter. One, and that is it. He doesn't play quarterback. Outside of that

he is a perfect prospect, Chris. He is. If you want him to be the number one or number two wide

receiver for your team, which he would be the number two, Jerry Judy is number one. I think

eventually he would take that over, that mantle over, but that is a great one-two combo right

there and if you need a corner which chris every single year we hear people calling this station

g and moaning denzel's out for this game or denzel missed the play throw travis in

okay he's deemed the best cornerback in this draft along with being the best one or two

wide receiver in this draft you can't go wrong i have over the last couple of weeks changed my tune

about a month ago at this point i was like travis hunter is no fit here but you've all you've never

said that he's not a good no like he's he's arguably the same guy it's either him or abdul

carter as the number one player in the draft so you're getting at least the second best player

in the draft at worst you can't turn that down you got to get good football players

and and that's the case for any team it's like the titans you got to get good football players

they don't have any good football players they have very few good football players on this team

right now but does that make him the safest and and that's two different conversations right

when it comes to safe it doesn't have to be the sexiest pick but you have to know what you're

getting and that that player can produce no matter what circumstance you're put in obviously you can't

take into account health at all times but when i think of when i think of the safest prospect in

this draft it's wherever however they're gonna get it done and i feel that way about tyler warren

the Penn State tight end. He's got the athleticism. He's got the size. He's got the ability

to play wide receiver as much as he does tight end. He's quick enough despite the size to make

sure that he can create adequate separation. He's got the ball skills that you need. He can be

a kind of lead blocker in your offense. He can be a blocker in your offense without being a

reliability he's a natural at the position he would make any team better right away I feel the

same way about Tyler Warren as I did about Brock Bowers coming out Bowers a higher level prospect

but still Warren right there the Raiders were better for adding a better football player even

if they're still trying to figure out their quarterback situation and it feels like they have figured out their quarterback situation with Geno Smith getting a what is it two-year extension

I believe for Gino two years, 75, if memory serves, they are better now because they figured out the skill position players

And that's said, okay, well, we will get the best possible quarterback solution that is attainable for us

And Gino's a pretty good option. They're a better football team because of those two moves

Tyler Warren is going to come in and make a difference for a franchise, maybe a franchise that is still trying to figure out the quarterback position

In theory, Kyle Pitts was supposed to do the same, but he's been, you know, I think he been robbed of a lot of opportunities because of the quarterback play there Now you got guys like oh I blanking on the Trey McBride Trey McBride just got an extension from the Arizona Cardinals

He has been an elite player at the position, but he hasn't had the touchdown statistics to support it

He's got the receptions though. And he is somebody who's like this next gen Gronk

Gronk, Kittle, Travis Kelsey, next era of the tight end, high level tight ends

He's gonna be one of those guys. Warren has the potential to be that. I think he has the safest outcome of all of those players

I feel like Mason Graham, the defensive tackle out of Michigan, also fits that bill

Whether or not they end up being the best players in their class is a different matter

But whether they end up being the safest prospects, the closest thing that can't miss in a business

that has can't miss or that misses all the time, Tyler Warren and Mason Graham are pretty

But still quality opponent in South Carolina trying to trying to repeat as national champions and they got it done

So that was my Sunday fun day. But Bert pulled a clip from one of our favorites, Bruce Drennan

Bruce Drennan is always a good time. If you don't know who Bruce Drennan is, he's a disgraced Cleveland sports talk media personality that does a show on

the internet once a week. Now, I believe it's on Wednesdays, the Bruce Drennan show

And he was previously reporting that the Cleveland Browns were trying to trade for the Dallas Cowboys

Now Bruce, he's doubling down. Cowboy fans. What the heck has Prescott accomplished for you

Nothing. The debate for you Cowboy fans is, who's the biggest underachiever

Prescott? Or Romo? And don't tell me that both of these guys have not been surrounded by sufficient talent to get you to the promised land again

Come on! he's so much better at this than I am and it bothers me deeply even though you know his

information may be terrible and nobody in the world thought the Cleveland Browns were actually

trying to trade for Dak Prescott from the Dallas Cowboys he took his glasses off and he made that

shit so real when he hit him with the goose egg and immediately just distracts Cowboys fans

by engaging them in a rage bait fueled debate who's the bigger underachiever as a Cowboys

quarterback Dak or Romo. It's genius. It's just genius. The man is an artist. My chef's kiss

I hope Bruce Strennan never retires or never gets arrested again for whatever it was. I can't

remember off the top of my head what he got arrested for previously, but he's, he is an

artist in terms of the, the delivery. You know, even if the information is, uh, is not so great
