The Problem with “NBA Rivalry Week”

The NBA needs to make Rivalry Week a way bigger thing, because if you didn't know this started

last night, then welcome to the club. So yeah, last night was the start of a week-long series of matchups in the NBA featuring rivalries

And by the way, this is the Bounce.ai app, it's 100% free, it's where I go to get all

my post-game stats and reports like this one. But then in the night game, the Nuggets blew out the Sixers, because of course Joel Embiid

ducked Jokic again. And Bounce has this funny new feature where you can chat with AI versions of NBA players

And even Jokic was like, yeah, it's ridiculous that Embiid doesn't play. And yeah, I think this is one of the real problems affecting NBA ratings right now

It's that the NBA doesn't really have any rivalries. Players across the league are just too buddy-buddy these days

And while I do think there are fair things to blame it on, like even AAU culture, I also don't think the league does a good job of promoting the rivalries they do have

And then you look at the schedule the league came up with, And it's just like, why do half the teams not even get a rivalry game

The NBA needs more beef, man
