Ladies and gentlemen, we're back here at WrestleMania, not WrestleMania, WrestleShow
0:04
This is WrestleMania? I'm back with WrestleMania? Yes, you're back with the WWE, yes
0:09
Ladies and gentlemen, here with Mr. James Ellsworth. Pretty much one of the unsung heroes of the modern era, I'd say, of WWE
0:17
Yeah. I would say a lot of people, they recognize you, they certainly know you, but..
0:22
Outside of what you did in WWE with Carmella or without Carmella, what is your wrestling background? What is your history
0:28
So, before WWE, I wrestled on the Indies for 14 years. 14
0:32
Actually, I run my own wrestling promotion based out of Maryland, ACW
0:37
ACWTIX.com. Check it out. Hold on, hold on. ACW stands for what
0:42
Adrenaline Championship Wrestling. Adrenaline Champion. Yeah. Because we know an ACW here in Jersey, that's a sub-champion
0:48
Okay, cool, cool. I wanted to make sure we had the distinction because we just did the pay-per-view for them. There's a lot of ACWs out there
0:53
Right. Hornswoggle runs an ACW in Wisconsin. Does he really? I don't know what it stands for, but I know what it stands for
0:59
Absolutely cute wrestling. Maybe, yeah. He's a cute little dude. So you've been doing it for almost two decades
1:08
22 years now. I've been wrestling, yeah. Yeah. So what was it about going to a WWE that was really the peak for you
1:16
What was it like going instead of going somewhere else? Well, WWE is the number one wrestling promotion in the world
1:22
Has been for 50 years at this point. and that was it for me
1:27
that's where I wanted to go that's still the only place I want to go
1:30
I love wrestling I love wrestling on any level I love wrestling on the independents
1:36
but if I could sign somewhere and be somewhere at WWE just for me personally the place for me
1:42
I can understand that obviously when you were working on WWE you had a nice amount of like
1:50
I just love this thing It more like I get the whole Oh yeah we very tech savvy So when you a time in WE you and I are saying one of the funnier people on the show
2:04
I'm okay. Kind of funny looking, you know. No, no, no, no, no
2:08
But do you feel like you have just a natural knack for comedy? Because comedy
2:13
is, as we've seen, some people try to be funny when they're on wrestling, but they don't come off as well. But you
2:19
you've got a knack for comedy. It's just because I'm just out there having a good time. And I feel like if I'm having fun, the audience is going to have fun with me
2:27
So that always was my mindset. Like, I wasn't even trying to be funny
2:32
I just, you know, whatever story they gave me, I'm like, how can I make this fun
2:36
And like I said, if I'm having fun, the crowd's having fun with me. So it's like a natural vibe
2:41
Absolutely. I've got to feel the room, you know. Is that what you instill on your students when they're going in
2:47
Because obviously there's the basics of, like, getting the physical stuff down
2:51
but as far as the character down. Yeah, you have to be entertaining, man
2:55
There's so many guys that wrestle on even television that are great wrestlers
3:00
They're very athletic and all that, but they have no charisma. There's no characterization
3:06
There's no storytelling. It's like, okay, that's cool that you can do a moonsault, but I've seen a moonsault 10,000 times since wrestling has begun
3:15
So now you need something that people go, oh, that's the guy that raps
3:20
Oh, that's the guy that comes out with the head. You know, like people, like Al Snow is a perfect example
3:25
People remember Al Snow. Oh, yeah. He had a character. Who doesn't like a plastic head
3:29
Right. I mean, it was different. It was different. But that's what I'm saying
3:34
You have to be different. You have to stand out. You have to be unique. You can't just be like a wrestler that flips and flops
3:40
That's cool that you can do that, but you still have to have that character to go along with it
3:44
So outside of WWE, would you say the characters, as long as you're the same or do you like go a little bit harder a little bit deeper with like
3:50
what you do i still kind of like do what i did in wwe i always done that even before WWE That was what you do Yes yes And my name is James Ellsworth like Ellsworth my middle name
4:02
Right. So I'm just kind of being myself. I'm just acting goofy and having a good time
4:06
That's what life's about to me anyway. So I interpret that into my wrestling as well
4:12
It's just me having a good time. So you've really never been the kind of person to play something off or maybe embellish everything
4:19
Everything you've done, everything you do is you. Is me, yeah. Even when I was with Carmella
4:24
They were like, oh, you're going to be Carmella. She's going to act like she really cares about you
4:29
She can help her win matches. And I'm like, oh, okay, this will be easy. This is how I would act around somebody like Carmella
4:36
So it was, you know, and the stuff with AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose
4:40
who is now Jon Moxley, before anybody says everything. You know, it's me hanging out with these cool guys
4:46
I'm like, wow. You ever watch Beavis and Butthead where they would hang out with Todd
4:51
You're like, oh, Todd's so cool. That's how I looked at Dean Ambrose. I'm like, oh, this is Todd from Beavis and Butthead
4:56
So cool. You hear that, John? You're Todd. He's a Todd. He is a Todd
5:00
You're a total Todd. We're like Beavis. Got the hair and everything, you know? Yeah. I can see that
5:05
Wait, so if you're Beavis, does that make any butthead at the moment? I think we, if you really look at it
5:10
we could be a Beavis and Butthead if they had like a live action movie
5:14
not do America, real people playing them. It could be us. Look at us
5:20
That's stupid. I love that. The Cornhole. My biggest is so much better than my butt hair
5:27
I am Cornhole. Exactly. You get that griftness in there. Where are you going to go
5:35
in the next few weeks or the next couple of months? Busy
5:40
Busy. Busy. Busy. I do independence all over the country. all over the world
5:45
Next month, I'm going to Canada. I doing a fun thing I am doing now is Juggalo Championship Wrestling with Violet J Oh really Oh my God I really enjoying doing that It so fun Oh yeah I done two shows with them so far
5:59
and I've got a couple more coming up. I'm just having a blast doing that. So, wait. Have you been to
6:04
The Gathering? I'm going this year. I'm wrestling on The Gathering this year. I can't
6:09
wait. Oh, that's going to be fun. Now, what are your hopes
6:13
for The Gathering? Because truth be told, I am an ICP fan. That's all
6:18
I've got a lot of ICP fans from when I was younger, but I've never seen them live
6:23
Never had the opportunity. I have now since I've been wrestling for them. It's entertaining, man
6:27
It's a good time. Violet J is a great, great, great dude
6:31
I'm looking forward to working more with Juggalo Championship Wrestling. Violet J and I, we talk a lot
6:39
He's just a good dude, man. He's very smart, very well-willed. Yeah, a lot of people don't give him a lot of credit
6:43
I see him on Twitch all the time doing his streams, and he's like, this is some educated stuff, man
6:48
Yeah, nah, he's smart. And people don't give him enough credit. Why? Because he's got pain on his face
6:52
Why is it worth the sting, but not for the final J? I don't get it. It's just different type of entertainment
6:57
But guess what? He found his niche. He did something different than everyone else
7:02
Him and Shaggy Tuto. And it worked. And people still love them. People still go out and support them
7:07
And I'm glad to be a part of it with Shaggy Lowe Championship Wrestling. No, I'm glad that you are a part of it
7:11
Because then that just adds more credential to what they actually do
7:15
and maybe one day people will stop worrying about Faygo and they'll be good
7:19
Yeah, they spread that Faygo everywhere at the concert. It's crazy. But no, James, thank you for getting – I know you have to get up because
7:26
I've got to go back to Baltimore. Yes. My wife's over there, so I better – We don't want to
7:31
You only have heard of a group full of wrestling fans. Right. If nothing else, we understand the tribulations of the significant other
7:39
That's right. I mean, I don't. I'm single as a twinkle. I'm overachieving more with her than I did with wrestling
7:45
Well, see, that's perfect because here at Japanese United, we stay humble
