Crossing This River Meant Rebellion #historylesson #ancientrome #shorts

In 49 BC, Julius Caesar reached a small river on the northern edge of Italy called the Rubicon River.
Roman law forbade generals from entering Italy with an army. If Caesar crossed that river with his legion, it meant rebellion against Rome itself.
When Caesar led his soldiers across the Rubicon, he began the Caesar's Civil War — a conflict that would ultimately destroy the Roman Republic.
One river.
One decision.
History would never be the same.
