Hildabasi breaks another record with

jellof rice.

Hildabasi has once again etched her name

into the honors of culinary history by

cooking the world's largest pot of

jalof. The monumental feat was achieved

on September 13, 2025 at the Echo Hotel

and Suit in Lagos during the Juno World

Jalof Festival. Basi prepared

approximately 200 bags of rice in a

custommade port measuring 6 m in weight

and height with a capacity of 22,619

L. The event attracted over 20,000

attendees including fans, food vendors,

and entertainers who witnessed the

historic moment and parttook in the

distribution of the jelloof rice to more

than 3,000 people. This 4,000 kg of rice

is 200 bags of rice and it will still

feed 20,000 people. So, we're still

we're still up there. Despite his

initial plans to cook 250 bags of rice,

Basi adjusted the quantity to 200 bags

due to weighing challenges. The federal

government louded her efforts with the

Minister of Information and National

Orientation, Muhammad Idris, commending

the initiative as a demonstration of

Nigeria's global excellence.

This latest accomplishment follows

Basi's previous Guinness World Record

for the longest cooking marathon by an

individual set in May 2023. Her

relentless pursuit of excellence

continues to inspire a new generation of

creatives and underscores the rich

culinary heritage of Nigeria.
