Gaza: Gaza was another principal city of the Philistine pentapolis and plays a significant role in the story of Samson, one of the judges of Israel. Samson's final act of pulling down the temple of Dagon in Gaza, which killed him and many Philistines, is a famous biblical story (Judges 16).
