Memorial Service for Ian Eric Martin Mortemore, at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Shirley Street, Nassau, N.P., on Saturday, 1st June, 2024 at 12:00pm. Ian Eric Martin Mortemore, 79 of San Salvador (formerly of Coral Harbour, Nassau), died peacefully at his home on Monday 13th May, 2024. Ian, retired General Manager of Nassau Flight Services (formerly Nassau Air Dispatch), and Immediate Past President of Skal Club of the Bahamas, was born in Watford, England on 21st January, 1945. He came to the Bahamas as a teenager in 1959 and is a graduate of the Government High School. He then served in the British Royal Navy for 7 years before returning to the Bahamas. From his arrival in Nassau, Ian considered the Bahamas home, setting that in stone when he received Bahamian citizenship. May he Rest in Peace. He is survived by his: Wife of 12 years: Alison Mortemore; Daughters of his first marriage: Elena Mortemore (James Briard), and Tanya Mortemore (Todd Tilberg); Grandchildren: Sara and Maya Tilberg, and Sophia and Thomas Briard; Sister: Jennifer Gee; Nephews: Phillip and Alex Gee and their families; Sisters-in-law: Diane Jones Cole, Sheila Rolle (Wenzel), Michelle Storr (Terrance), Carla Jones Guerette (Mark), Charlene Rolle, Christine Seymour, Earley Rolle Adderley (Gladstone); Brother-in-law: Crewdson Williams; Additional Family, Lifelong Friends and Loved ones: Janet Kingsbury (Bob); the Gotch family; Gerald Stevenson; Dotty Rae and the Rae and Jones families; the Butler family; the Honnet family; Caius St. George; Neal Storr; Brent Walker; Lorna Arnette; the Nassau Flight Services family; the Air Bahama family; the Skal Club family; the San Salvador community; and a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. Special thanks is extended to the doctors and nurses at the San Salvador Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Poinciana Recovery Clinic, and Memorial Regional Hospital. His final resting place will be in San Salvador.
