Hey everybody. In this video tutorial,
0:01
I'm going to show you how to export
0:04
Google Tag Manager containers as JSON
0:07
files. All right. So, if you're setting
0:09
up Google Tag Manager for a lot of
0:11
similar websites with a lot of similar
0:13
uh tracking requirements, then it can be
0:16
useful to export one Google Tag Manager
0:19
container and then just import that to
0:22
another new Google Tag Manager container
0:24
and you will have all the tags,
0:26
triggers, and variables. So you don't
0:28
have to recreate them from scratch. And
0:30
how you can do this? So let's say you
0:32
want to export the container and all of
0:35
its tags, triggers, variables, and
0:37
settings from this website. In that
0:40
case, what you have to do is go to the
0:41
admin section. So click on the gear icon
0:44
here, which will open up the admin page.
0:46
If you are in the workspace, you can
0:47
click on admin here. And you will see
0:49
the container uh settings here. And to
0:52
export the container, you can see the
0:54
option here. Click on that. Then you
0:56
have to select which version and which
0:58
workspace you want to export out. So in
1:01
this case the last one which is this
1:03
one. And you will see a summary of the
1:05
export. So you will export one tag, one
1:07
trigger and 25 variables, zero
1:10
templates. You can also select which of
1:13
these you do not want to export. So
1:15
let's say you don't want to export these
1:17
built-in variables. In that case you
1:19
wouldn't export that. If you'll take the
1:22
checkbox out, you can also preview the
1:24
JSON here or just click on export here
1:27
and this will export out the JSON file
1:30
or your container as a JSON file. You
1:32
can save it to your computer. So in all
1:34
this how you can export uh Google Tag
1:36
Manager container as a JSON file and
1:39
then you can import this JSON file to
1:41
another container. I have a tutorial on
1:44
that so make sure to check that out as
