Hey everybody. In this video tutorial,
0:01
I'm going to show you how to delete a
0:04
Google Tag Manager container. All right.
0:07
So, as you might know, you can have
0:09
multiple containers in a Google Tag
0:11
Manager account. And if you do not want
0:14
to delete all containers and the
0:16
account, you also have the option to
0:18
just delete one container in that Google
0:21
Tag Manager account. And here's how to
0:23
do it. So, you have to do is open up tag
0:26
And as you can see for this account I
0:29
have two containers and one of them is
0:31
just a test container. And uh here you
0:34
can see the container type. So you can
0:35
create app containers as well. But let's
0:38
say you no longer need this uh tag
0:40
manager container called test container.
0:42
To delete it all you have to do is just
0:45
click on the three dots in the line of
0:47
the container and then you will have the
0:49
option to click on container settings.
0:52
Click on that which will open up this
0:53
edit container page where you can change
0:55
the container name or enable consent
0:58
overview. But if you want to delete the
1:00
Google Tag Manager container, what you
1:02
have to do is click on the three dots in
1:04
the top right corner and select delete.
1:06
And then you have to confirm that you
1:07
will delete this test container and it
1:10
will be moved to the rubbish bin which
1:11
is basically the uh trash can where you
1:14
can recover it for 30 days. But after
1:16
that it will be permanently removed from
1:18
your Google Tag Manager account. So, if
1:21
you're sure, just click on delete. And
1:22
that's about it. Now, the container has
1:25
been deleted as you can see on the left
1:27
here. And in the rubbish bin, we're
1:29
going to see that this uh test container
1:31
has been deleted. And if we click on it,
1:33
if you want, we can restore it or even
1:35
export the container and its settings.
1:38
All right. So, in all, this how you can
1:40
delete a Google Tag Manager container.
