"The Wider View Status"

"The Wider View Status" It's kind of a big deal... apparently. Mr Fuller, once known for quoting passages at assembly from The Wider View by Betty Cosgrove, now carries on a special tradition. The Wider View by Betty Cosgrove is a book about the history of Rockhampton Girls Grammar School and the generations of students and staff who have helped make the School what it is today. Each year, Mr Fuller selects a Year 12 student, who has demonstrated exceptional passion, commitment, and dedication in their role as a senior student, to write a message in his personal original copy of the book. This year, the usually quiet tradition generated a surprising amount of noise. Cocurricular Prefect Katie had her sights set on earning the honour in 2026. To seal the deal, Mr Fuller set her one final challenge: get the entire school to say something in unison, she would be crowned with "The Wider View Status". During the Interhouse Choir Assembly, Katie rose to the occasion, encouraging the whole school to join in Mr Fuller's infamous "Polywonger" chant. This peculiar, and admittedly slightly confusing request, was enthusiastically embraced by the entire school. The moment served as a wonderful reminder that even the smallest things can become memorable when an entire community comes together in support of one another. Congratulations Katie!
