Hi, this is Anita from Reluctant Low
0:08
Carb Life. You know, today there's a lot
0:10
of different diets out there. somebody
0:12
telling me about a diet that they're
0:13
going on which is kind of like the
0:16
former metapast but they you know
0:18
basically have a protein bar protein
0:20
shake they eat a meal and then um in the
0:24
evening they have a protein shake and
0:26
then they have um some type of protein
0:28
brownie. Uh for some people this works
0:30
great. I just am not a great believer
0:33
that this actually solves the underlying
0:36
problem as to why we get unhealthy or
0:38
get fat in the first place. I believe
0:41
very much in what I call the three
0:43
pillars of health, which is eating foods
0:46
that help you feel full. A concept of
0:48
satiety that protein helps you feel
0:51
full. Vegetables can help you help you
0:54
feel full. You don't feel hungry after
0:56
eating um some vegetables.
0:59
But if you've ever like eaten a
1:01
McDonald's hamburger and suddenly an
1:03
hour later you're really hungry, that's
1:05
because that McDonald's hamburger didn't
1:07
give you maybe the satiety that you
1:09
needed. The other one is eating fresh to
1:12
eat foods which are not multi-processed.
1:15
We live in a world especially in parts
1:17
of Europe and America today where there
1:20
is so much multi-processed food. I've
1:22
heard something about that 80% of all
1:25
children are, you know, or might might
1:27
have 60 or 70% of their food might be
1:29
multi-processed or some it's even as
1:31
high as 80%. It's a huge amount of food
1:34
that they're eating today which is
1:36
multi-processed. And what does this
1:38
mean? This means that they're eating
1:39
foods that have more chemicals in them
1:41
than they actually have nutrients.
1:46
So, we are great believers in fresh,
1:48
which is mean real food over processed
1:50
shortcuts. And you might ask yourself,
1:52
well, why does fresh matter? Well, whole
1:54
foods are packed with vitamins and
1:56
minerals and, you know, antioxidants,
1:59
which helps your body to be able to
2:00
function better. You know, less junk
2:03
food means fewer cravings. If you eat
2:05
real food, you don't feel hungry so
2:07
much. You have better satiety. You know,
2:10
fake food can trick your brain. That's
2:13
why you can sit down and you can have a
2:14
bag of potato chips and before you know
2:16
it, you've eaten the whole bag of potato
2:18
chips or you've eaten the whole box of
2:20
crackers or the whole box of cookies
2:22
because of the fact that, you know, it
2:24
tricks your brain into thinking that
2:26
you're that you're really, you know, not
2:28
quite full and you'll just keep eating
2:30
more and more. The processed foods are
2:33
really made for you to be able to eat as
2:36
much of them as you can. Think about it.
2:39
The food companies are not there
2:41
necessarily to make you healthy. Nobody
2:44
overeats on broccoli or nobody over eats
2:47
on spinach. The food companies are there
2:50
to make you want to eat more of their
2:54
ultroessed foods. So real foods is what
2:58
is important. And as we talked before,
3:02
real foods can help you feel full
3:04
longer. You know, that's why like many
3:06
of our ancestors, they didn't have all
3:07
these multi-processed foods. And so
3:10
that's why they were skinny, they were
3:11
healthy, they were fit because of the
3:14
fact that they um didn't have the
3:15
ultroessed foods like we had today.
3:18
Unfortunately, they didn't have also had
3:19
the advances in medicine as we have
3:21
today. So, you know, many of them died
3:23
of things that maybe they wouldn't die
3:25
of today if they were eating the same
3:28
Our last pillar is about being fit. You
3:31
know, move like you mean it. you know,
3:33
to be able to to, you know, get some
3:35
activity into your daily life. You might
3:37
ask, well, why does this matter? Well,
3:40
it can help with your um, you know,
3:42
insulin sensitivity if you're insulin
3:44
sensitive, which most of us are, your
3:47
muscles and your metabolism and your
3:49
mental resilience. All of that can help.
3:52
You know, walk every day. Yes, walking
3:53
can count. Do some strength training.
3:56
Stay active in life. Take stairs. doing
3:58
housework, gardening, playing with the
4:00
kids can all be part of staying active.
4:03
So, I'm a great believer that, you know,
4:05
this these three pillars. It's not just
4:06
about, you know, the way you eat. It's
4:08
just it's really about your life. It's
4:10
about how you live. It's about looking
4:13
at these three things in your daily life
4:15
to be able to improve your life each and
4:18
every single day. And that's why at
4:21
Reluctant Low Carb Life, we are great
4:23
believers in these three things, which
4:26
is really about living your life with a
4:29
trifecta of health, which is eating
4:31
fresh foods, foods which are fresh in
4:33
its natural form, eating foods which
4:36
will help you feel full longer. And
4:38
usually that has to do with, you know,
4:39
eating fresh vegetables, eating fresh
4:42
meats, eating fresh foods of some form.
4:44
And the last one is in fitness, in
4:48
eating foods that help you to be able
4:49
to, you know, if you eat those foods and
4:51
you'll find yourself being able to have
4:53
more energy for your fitness and that to
4:56
find some way to be able to move and to
4:58
keep on moving. That's what's really
5:02
If you'd like to be able to read more
5:03
about this, we have a blog post we have
5:05
written. We'll put the a link to the
5:07
blog post in the description below. the
5:10
three pillars of sustainable low carb
5:12
living, fresh, full, and fit explained.
5:15
And that you should be able you'll find
5:16
more details there on that blog post can
5:19
help you be able to navigate this, which
5:21
is really a new way of thinking for many
5:23
people that have been in the diet sphere
5:26
for a long time. But it is really a very
5:30
natural and I would say logical way to
5:34
be able to look at your health and your
