Hey Wanderers, Prepared Wanderer in the Woods today. You're going to be looking at two products that are currently on Hidden Woodsman's website

These are from Exotac. They are kind of a limited edition, I guess you would call them, with Hidden Woodsman

It's the Exotac Titan Lighter and the Exotac Match Cap XL. So, stick around

You know, a lighter is such an important part of your fire kit or your survival kit

It just gives you another way of making fire that's very reliable. Now, typically I carry butane lighters in all my packs

And butane lighters have their limitations. Some don't do so well with cold. Some don't do so well with getting wet

Of course they run out and then you have to purchase a new one. That's always a problem too

So, you know, having a lighter that's actually refillable is pretty cool

And this Titan Lighter is actually a refillable lighter. By unscrewing this bottom cap, you're able to add fluid to the chamber

And then you're just going to be using standard lighter fluid that you'd use in a Zippo

And then it has a gasket cap on it so it prevents it from leaking and evaporating

And you get a consistent flame every time. So this really ups the game as far as lighters go

Zippos, I love Zippos. Carried Zippos for years. Used to be a smoker. Always used a Zippo

And loved them, but they evaporate very quickly in your pocket. And you have to fill them up all the time

This thing, I've had this for about, oh, three weeks now maybe

Filled it up. It's been sitting in my pack. And it's like you just saw. It's holding its liquid pretty well

Watch. Great thing about this is I can hold it underneath the tinder

and not have to keep constant pressure on the thumb, on the thumb wheel like you would with a butane lighter

This I just, I click it and I can hold it anywhere I want and it's going to have a consistent flame coming out of it

And that allows the fire a chance to get that tinder going

So definitely an advantage right away there. It's made from a metal tube so it's definitely rugged

It's going to hold up to the rigors of being carried in your pocket or thrown in your pack

It's not chintzy or plasticky feeling. It's very solid. It's a very well made product

So really happy with it. I think it's definitely a game changer for sure for my gear is having something like this in the pack

Moving on to the Match Cap XL. Pretty much the same deal

Rugged construction. Has a gasket that keeps it waterproof

It blows the butane lighter out of the water. Now I've got a refillable lighter that's going to last

It's going to be added to a lot of my kits. I'm going to probably get a couple more of these and add them as I go along because I think they're well worth it

Just they up the game from the standard butane lighters. You can see there's still smoke in the air from the fire that I started
