Today's video I want to show you a really cool EDC light that I just got
0:04
from Blackfire Tools. Stick around. So I just got this flashlight from Blackfire and I really wasn't very
0:29
familiar with Blackfire. They're kind of new to me but I've seen them on social media and saw them on Amazon. And what I learned is that Blackfire is actually a
0:38
subsidiary of Klein Tools. And I think you know most people, especially guys, know
0:45
Klein Tools. And I was really drawn to this flashlight because it looked
0:52
substantial, it looked heavy-duty, but it also was simple. It didn't have a lot of
0:57
extra features that I don't need and it just kind of checked all the boxes for a
1:04
flashlight that I would look for when I'm out and about. Especially when I'm
1:09
camping and something I can have in my truck. I don't want something that's
1:14
super big and I want it to be easy to use and have a couple different features
1:19
So this is the BBM 6412. This is their mid-sized flashlight. They actually have
1:26
a couple others. There's one that's bigger than this and there's one smaller than this. And I like this one for a couple reasons. First of all, it has a
1:36
clicky tail cap, which I love. I love the clicky rubber tail caps on my
1:45
flashlights. I don't care for side buttons. They just don't work for me and
1:50
sometimes they can be activated when they're in your pocket. The other thing
1:55
that I really liked is that it actually has a USB charging port on the side. And
2:01
you can see right here, when you turn that, that opens it up and it does come
2:07
with a cable so you can charge this via USB. And you can close that up and that's
2:20
going to protect it. The other cool thing about this is that it has a
2:25
magnetic base, which is a fantastic feature on a flashlight. Especially a
2:31
flashlight you're going to carry in your vehicle. Because if you have to work on
2:35
your truck or work in the back of your truck, you can stick this to the side or
2:41
to a toolbox or the engine compartment and then see what you're doing. But the
2:46
very cool thing about this flashlight is the lantern feature. So we have a
2:51
couple of modes. And then if you click that down, so then it's going to go down
3:02
right in lumens. Not as bright. If you hold the clicker down, now it switches to
3:12
lantern mode. And that puts the light out the side. And that's where having it
3:17
stuck to the side of a piece of metal and having it aiming down is a great
3:22
option. Because now you can work on something. You can read a map. You can do
3:28
land navigation. Whatever you need to do. And then of course switch that back. You
3:34
just hold it down longer and it goes back to the last mode that was in for
3:40
the light out front. And then also a nice feature is it does have the glow ring. So when you shut this
3:56
off. It's probably kind of hard to see with this lighting. But that glows in
4:04
the dark very nicely. And it does have also a charging indicator. So this means
4:10
that it is at full charge. It's ready to go. And then it's just it's made of
4:16
really nice aircraft aluminum. It's got knurling on the sides for a good grip. It
4:23
has a very nice pocket clip. It's just an all-around well-built flashlight that I
4:30
took out on a trip here a couple weeks ago. I loved using it. It was very handy
4:34
to have. It went in my my haversack with me. And then now it's been riding in my
4:41
truck. And I think it's just it's a very cool option from Blackfire. It's also
4:46
great about this light is the price point. It's right around $39.99. So I
4:52
think that's pretty affordable for a flashlight of this caliber. The max
4:57
lumens on the on the highest setting is 500. And then it steps down to 315
5:03
lumens. And then the work light mode actually is 375 lumens for 10 hours. And
5:14
also you can step down the lantern. So that goes through that's at 375 lumens
5:24
But when you take it down to medium it goes down to 235. And then another click
5:31
down it goes to eco mode. In eco mode that's the lowest setting. That's 35
5:42
lumens for about 30 hours. So overall super happy with this flashlight. You know I think flashlights
6:15
have kind of gotten out of hand these days. You know everybody's trying to one
6:20
up each other with highest lumens and all these different modes. I mean there's
6:26
been flashlights that I've had that I couldn't even figure out what mode I was
6:30
in and how to get to it. It was just too complex. And I want to be able to grab my
6:35
light and use it and have a couple modes for high and low and have a couple other
6:42
features. And that's all it needs to do for me. But it needs to be well built and
6:47
it just needs to have some simple features that are usable. And I think the
6:54
Blackfire did a great job with this light. You know it's a
6:59
fantastic task light to throw in your vehicle, throw in your bug out bag, throw
7:05
in your camping gear. And I think it'll serve you very well. Now when you go to
7:11
Blackfire's website check out some of the other stuff they have. Because it's
7:15
just not flashlights. I think there's a headlamp, there's multi tools, knives
7:20
all kinds of different things for kind of preparedness and EDC. They just have
7:28
some really cool stuff they're coming out with. Super happy with their products
7:32
so far and I hope I can check out more in the future because I'm really enjoying
7:37
this light. It's become one of my favorites and I think if you guys pick one up I think you'll like it too. So check out the affiliate links down below
7:44
Check out the Facebook group. There's a link down below for that. It's really
