Classic Greek Salad Recipe (Horiatiki)
Jun 24, 2024
Horiatiki, the classic Greek salad, is a simple mix of ripe tomato, cucumber, onion, pepper, olives, and feta with olive oil and oregano. This video shows a version for four, as a light meal or a side.
The flavor comes from ripe vegetables and good oil, not from a heavy dressing. Traditional horiatiki is usually served without lettuce; if your cut includes it, say so in the first lines so the recipe matches the video.
Ingredients for four:
4 ripe tomatoes, in wedges
1 cucumber, peeled, halved, and sliced
1 red onion, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, in rings
200 g (7 oz) feta
Kalamata olives, oregano, extra virgin olive oil
