Ready to jam with strawberries
0:02
These are all the ingredients and tools that we're gonna need. I rinse off my strawberries
0:08
Next I cut off the tops, this way, to preserve as much strawberry as possible
0:12
Next I'm gonna chop them a bit. Now I put them in this bowl and mash them up
0:17
We mash them like this because we like it kinda chunky, but you could use a blender or a stick blender
0:21
We'll put that into our 4-cup measuring cup. That was 2 cups, I need 8 for this double batch
0:25
Now we're gonna add 6 cups of sugar, and 2 packages of this Sure Gel Premium Fruit Pectin
0:29
I use the low sugar. Mix those together really well, before stirring in 2 cups of water
0:34
and bringing it to a full rolling boil on high heat. Once it's at a full rolling boil, set a timer for 60 seconds
0:39
and keep on stirring. When the timer goes off, immediately remove it from the heat
0:43
and mix it in with the fruit. Mix them together for a full minute, then immediately scoop it into freezer safe containers
0:49
leaving about a half inch at the top. Then loosely rest the lid on each one, and let them sit for 24 hours
0:54
After that, we'll close them up tight, stick them in the freezer, and enjoy them when we're ready for them
