Kayaking a Freshwater Fjord – A Paddling Adventure in Killarney | Paddle Tales
Jan 15, 2026
I’ve been kayaking and canoeing in the Killarney area a number of times, and I’ll keep going back, because it’s one of the most beautiful places in the world. It also has a huge variety of world-class kayak touring and canoe tripping adventures to choose from, both in and around Killarney Provincial Park.
On this particular trip, I was excited to explore a part of the Georgian Bay coastline that I'd never seen. Baie Fine is a freshwater fjord that lies about 30-kilometers from the village of Killarney. My mission on this Paddle Tales Adventure was to paddle up Baie Fine, and then hike to a perched lake that is rumoured to have the most beautiful, clear and refreshing water in the world.
