History of stock Market

The history of the stock market can be traced back to the late Middle Ages in Italy, where merchants and bankers began trading debts and other financial instruments. However, the modern stock market as we know it today emerged in the 17th and 18th centuries in the Netherlands and England. In 1602, the Dutch East India Company (VOC) became the first publicly traded company, issuing shares of stock to investors in order to raise capital for voyages to the East Indies.
