Hi Loves. It's Vivian and I'm back with another Sudan video which is shocking by the way because I told you that you don't see
0:07
a Sam video in a very long time. But anyways, I'm here because we are in June and June is Acne Awareness Month just in
0:14
case you are not aware, June is Acne Awareness Month. So what better time to talk about my acne journey and how I kind of
0:22
cleared my skin and took my skin from this to this than on the acne awareness
0:28
One thing is so yeah, that's why this video is happening. That's why you're watching this video
0:34
And yeah, in this video, we're going to talk about them for my acne journey
0:37
How I cleared my skin tips and encouragement for people to see backing with acne
0:43
Let's get straight into it. I've always, I've always, I al I always say I've always had clear skin
0:48
but I've always had OK skin, the one that you did not need to have a skincare routine
0:53
It's good enough for you. It's good enough for everybody. Just a disclaimer
0:58
I have zero makeup on serial makeup on because I wanted this video to be as realistic as possible
1:06
I can't be talking about skincare, my acne journey, I have makeup puffing or blemishes
1:10
Obviously, my skin is not where I would like it to be, but my skin is significantly better than how it used to be
1:17
So yes, let's not take away from the story. My I always had that OK
1:23
Skin good enough doesn't need a skincare routine. OK. We're not going to talk about my um secondary school days because I have
1:30
I was a poor child cause I said breaking, I said having acne from like primary five and that was previously obviously
1:36
So I had it like maybe through our secondary school, I cannot remember. So in uni my skin was significantly OK
1:42
They said that you don't need a skincare. So you break out one or two weeks or like it's good
1:46
You get that type of I'm giving guys a glimpse of how my skin was
1:50
Last year. I had the worst acne breakout I have ever had in my life
1:57
OK? I was in school. We rounded up, we've done our final exams, final year
2:01
So we had this project defense we had to do, you know, she wound up even even in four years
2:06
you know how stressful that is. So I said breaking up and I genuinely genuinely thought I was just breaking out due to stress
2:14
You know, stress also makes you break up. So I didn't think too much of it. But the next time I came back home
2:19
done with everything and I was still breaking out. I was so confused and I was so lost
2:26
Like what was going on? This was me that had clear skin in January
2:31
I put a video that I was able in the video. I was always saying, oh my skin is skinning
2:36
Then I come back in February. I'm done with school. I'm resting at home
2:40
So why is my skin still breaking up? You guys? This thing became so bad
2:44
March came and it was my birthday and it was so bad and my mom was concerned like what's going on
2:49
You normally don't break out like this. And me too. I was confused because I didn't break out like this
2:54
That's when I OK. It was serious. So there's the, there was a time I ever worked down at all on my face because my
3:00
mom saw on Facebook like, hey, my face was just shiny red. That thing doesn't help a bit
3:04
Obviously, it doesn't cause now I have better knowledge of it. So I got that was how it kept going
3:09
I didn't do anything because honestly, I just thought it would go away. I got
3:13
I fell walking then and yeah, I became the debate with the A with a and it was so bad in April
3:20
I said my skincare would same. I bought what I assumed would help
3:24
So I bought this tiny um vitamin C. Um what else? Tiny vitamin C and this um dive
3:32
you know, I got simple facial wash. I think that's, that, that's
3:35
those are the only things I got. Oh, and I got this spon acid. So because last time it was everywhere on tiktok
3:41
But the thing is that, that conj as the one I bought was not Conj Sun, you know, the spongy sun
3:46
the one that is black, right? So I bought another type of project access. So and my face reacted to it
3:50
but I think it even made it worse. So I kind of stopped using it but the damage has already been done and it was
3:56
so bad. It was so bad. I'll be at work and I'll be I'll be my self esteem was you
4:01
you guys, I was struggling with my self image because I just wait for me from January class came to this and I didn't know
4:07
how to navigate it. My self esteem was shitsy. My self esteem was so bad
4:13
I became, I just felt like I was not as pretty as I used to. It's crazy what acne does to you people don't really
4:19
talk about it. But yeah, but I remember one time at work that somebody commented
4:24
this guy commented on my face. He was like, oh what's going on? You're always breaking like you should try to talk to me
4:29
I lashed out that day because you look at me and you think I'm not really feeling bad enough and you add J to my
4:35
own. So I cried that night when I go, nobody knew. But like that's why I always tell people not to point out people that
4:42
have that. It's not your, it is not your business. If they don't genuinely come to you for help
4:47
I feel like you should just shut up. Don't tell them people who drink water, wash your face
4:51
You think, you think I'm not drinking water? You think I'm not washing? I'm sorry because I'm just thinking a lot of Nigerians are so
4:57
ignorant. They don't know their underlying condition that makes people have acne
5:01
Not that I had a condition. Mine was basically maybe Robbo, I do not know
5:05
But there are people that have PC O A. There are many medical condition that like causes acne
5:10
So you don't think you can just come here and say whatever you want to say because you think
5:14
oh she just has pimples. So yeah, I just kept some consistency basically because from April assessing changes in October
5:21
So from April to October, if you are that thing, you ask me, I promise you patience is your best friend
5:27
You have to be patient. It is never a point a 1 to 3 or it's never that far
5:32
So I kept on and I cause the pimples let this like hyper pigmentation like darker spots on the side of my face
5:41
And that was basically what I was battling with at that time and at some point I would still get one or two people here
5:45
and there. But like that was my main, main target, those um darker spots
5:51
So POA choice helped and yeah, I just kept on that routine in January
5:56
I took it a little bit. I added CMB three and I added a better sunscreen
6:00
So basically that's what I have been doing to get. I don't think I didn't change my diet
6:05
By the way. I know that. Yeah, a lot of people say diet helps. No, at some point I stopped taking milk because they were
6:10
like, oh dairy, I saw it on youtube. Dairy doesn't like dairy boost your estrogen and all of that
6:17
But I still take, there's a point I stop but now I still take it because I'm sorry
6:22
I'm not going to give up milk. That was basically what was going on. That's my
6:27
my acne journey and I am grateful for the point I am at
6:31
I'm basically, I'm not at the point I would like to be, but I'm not at January face yet
6:37
But you can see my journey. Obviously, I am putting clips and you can see my journey and understand that I am in a better
6:44
place. I am doing better. I am keeping up with it. That was how I got my face from there to here
6:50
Basically patient. If you, if you can afford it, go to a dermatology
6:54
But at that point where I was, I wasn't thinking of about that. Basically
6:57
I was just doing trial and error and I promise you trial error won't work for everybody
7:02
No, everybody's skin is different. Trial and error was what I did doesn't mean it will work for you
7:07
So, if you can afford it, please go to a dermatologist. Let them help you
7:11
Ok. So right now I'm just going to, to show you guys my morning and my night skincare routine
7:19
my morning skincare routine. I go in with my simple facial wash
7:23
Then I also go in with my tuna. My vitamin C seven
7:28
I might see, I, I let all this dry first before I apply each on each other
7:32
Then my moisturizer and my sunscreen. Then for my night routine, I start off with my facial cleanser
7:40
Then I double cleanse with this extract cleanser. I don't know if it helps
7:44
but I use a cotton pad to double cleanse because it's night and I need to take off my sunscreen
7:49
Then on night, I need to exfoliate re toner. And I also go with my retinol and I go in with this ponds cream as
7:56
my moisturizer for the night. Occasionally I use this vitamin C moisturizer if I'm
8:01
if I run out of my vitamin C seven. And yeah, you guys have my routine pretty straightforward
8:07
Yeah, you guys that is my morning and my night routine. Do you know
8:11
I like my routine. It works for me and this is super affordable
8:15
I do not need to break the bank. The most expensive thing in my routine is my last choice because that's like
8:21
it's now 205 before it was 95. But that's the most expensive thing
8:25
My serums are like two K, three K. My wash is like 35
8:29
I like my routine because it's affordable and in case I go that I can eat
8:33
there's no point in my time in my life that I won't have P five to buy my facial wash
8:38
Well, that is why I like my routine. I don't need to bring it back. I don't need to
8:41
Anyways, that is my routine. I'm posting this routine because when I posted about my acne or my story
8:48
like four people asked me for my routine. So I just wanna put it out there. This is a wider audience tips I'll give to
8:53
people that are battling with acne right now. I just want to let you know that a it doesn't take away from your beauty
9:00
OK? It doesn't add, but it doesn't take away from how beautiful you are. I know it is hard
9:04
I'm not going to do if it's not hard to deal with it, it is hard to deal with it
9:08
but I just wanted to know that it doesn't take you away. It. You are beautiful
9:12
Don't let acne determine yourself what for your self also set boundaries because I feel like it's when people talk about your acne that
9:21
it reduces your self esteem even without people. But people sometimes ask
9:25
So set boundaries, do not let people talk about you or your face in any way you do
9:31
You have to set boundaries. So people can stop commenting. Nigerians don't know um that sometimes they are too much
9:37
Even your family can also be like demeaning you because of your face
9:41
So it is nice if you set boundaries and tell people, oh, do not point this out to me
9:45
I do not like it. I I is over Nigeria. They will get over it
9:49
You can switch your diet. You should try. I didn't basically do it. But I know dairy product
9:54
They said it's not really good. And yeah, the last one is patience. You guys patience has to be your best friend when you are
10:00
doing with acne. That's, that's the only way you're going to, you're going to successfully treat it
10:06
And just as side by that acne is not curable. It is treatable and can be managed because a lot of people think you get
10:13
I want to clear your skin that's over. That is why it's a continuous journey
10:17
I tell people skincare saved my life and they think I'm joking. It is a continuous journey
10:22
It's just like you're in a toxic relationship with your ex. You can't actually go because when you go
10:26
you are no longer managing the acne and there are possibilities. You may flare up at any time
10:30
So, yeah, it is a life, lifelong friendship. You cannot just break up of it
10:36
So that express when your skin clear, you have to also keep managing and keep do you get
10:42
So, yeah, you guys, I think these are all the points I have just aside, but I am not a dermatologist
10:46
I'm a station. This is what worked for me and hopefully with everyone baling with Acne out there
10:52
I really hope you find your group and you hold on to it. Ok
10:56
Acne is not the end of the world. Just see you guys have come to the end of this video and I'll see you guys
11:02
in my next video. Thank you for watching and yeah. Mm I don't like this
