Welcome back to the channel everybody today we are going after one of my
0:08
favorite species in the world to catch and that is the crappie and we are
0:13
rolling out in my 15-foot John boat again aka the crispy collector but today
0:19
we're gonna be focusing on fishing bridges now you're almost guaranteed to
0:23
run into some sort of fish on a bridge at all times of the year but there's two
0:28
seasons that it really performs well and that is winter and summer the reason
0:34
being those two times of year fish typically like access to deep water and
0:38
usually a bridge is going over some sort of River Channel so little tip if you're
0:45
gonna go fish bridges in the winter and summer try to locate those parts of the
0:51
bridge that are closest to the River Channel start there and look for bait
0:55
some bridges can be gigantic and it can be a challenge to find these fish today
1:00
we're gonna be using our new electronics and I'm excited to finally try out the
1:05
LiveScope on the crispy collector and I'm gonna give you guys a little peek on
1:09
a new bait today which is the tasty tube it's not quite out yet but this is an
1:15
excellent wintertime bait because it doesn't have much appendage movement tubes are excellent fish catchers everyone knows that but this bait right
1:25
here is awesome because it doesn't move very much just a little bit of tentacle
1:29
movement and if you guys are gonna get into crappie fishing for the first time need some baits or you're just wanting a sweet deal googansquad.com the crappie
1:37
crusher bundle right now is on sale it's linked down below but today we don't want
1:42
much action because the water is in the 40s these fish are cold we're trying to
1:45
match the movement of these bait fish and that is key when you're fishing
1:50
bridges make sure to find some bait you're gonna find some fish let's get
1:54
under these loud crazy bridges I'm apologizing right now for the bridge
1:58
noise but the fish are under there I promise you just gave the old little 30 little dirty 30 merc her first gear loop change
2:19
yesterday so I wanted to get out of the water make sure everything's running
2:23
smoothly seems to be so far and also a new a dish check this out
2:31
stuff you know it's the crispy we're out here catching things to eat and
2:34
whatnot we'll go ahead and just put ourselves a big old foam measuring board
2:41
in here all the way out to 32 inches I don't think we're gonna be using the
2:48
full extent of our measuring board today so we're going after crappie
3:01
you okay so I've gone across just a couple of rows of piling so far I found one
3:24
spot that looks okay so what I'm gonna do is take some paracord I'm just gonna
3:30
kind of take the boat around try to wrap myself around one of these posts
3:40
you're set in motion Oh I want a cold you
4:16
in order to use this I got to turn on my black box just press that button right
4:21
there rub it for good luck there she blows there we go we got some fish down there
4:34
this is kind of a special one because I tied this little fly myself
4:42
but I've basically got a 8 ounce Guggens quad jig head with the spinner on it
4:51
this is a spinner version I took the spinner off and I'm just using the swivel
4:58
to basically create a little fly that goes right underneath it we're hooked up I don't know which bait that the fish got but we got one oh we
5:11
got the fly oh it's a drum the drum ate the fly four pound test
5:24
at least I know something will eat it oh there we go come on baby that was a crappie thumb
5:43
oh it's a white bass crappie bass ate the tube oh
5:58
tasty tube let go of it buddy all right second fish is a white bass
6:09
hooked up there's our crappie sir get in here that one wanted a tasty tube
6:28
so what was interesting about that one is you know I caught those other two
6:33
fish in the front and the first cast I made on the back side is where we got
6:37
the crappie where that current it's kind of flowing through see what we got here see what kind of measurements we got
6:49
it's going to be a 13 incher that is a Dandy sure to put him on the stringer so that tell his other buddies about it
7:03
oh man he's still fighting feisty now quick rigging tip if you guys want to try the double rig like
7:12
I'm fishing here you don't have to fish a fly you can do two jigs you can try
7:17
different colors on each jig head so you can see what the fish like more it's
7:21
also a way to cover a little bit more water you can take your underspin rig
7:26
ours comes with a nice barrel swivel under here you can take that split ring
7:31
off of there and your little willow blade and replace it with a leader and
7:36
then tie your jig head below that and then you're fishing two baits at once
7:40
little caveat to that you may not get the best fall like you would on a single
7:46
16th ounce jig head but you are able to cover more water and maybe even double up
8:00
Oh got it right over that piling hey that's a crappie
8:11
good one that was pretty sweet y'all
8:22
watch it go down another one about 12 white crappie
8:49
collecting in the crispy Oh he got it oh no he dropped it
9:41
acting like he's gonna eat the fly there's one that was a big thump
9:53
crappie though it was like a white bass tug yep that's what it is they're a little bit more off the pilings but I've had crappie
10:06
do the same thing oh it came off god that felt good whatever it was
10:25
yikes oh come here baby that's a big slow tug
10:44
I don't even know what this is oh yeah I knew I knew
10:51

11:33
alrighty guys we're getting some interest but they're not connecting so I'm going to try to switch up colors
11:37
maybe switch up dates I'm going to go with natural natural dark
11:57

12:23

18:05
it takes so long to set up a 16th ounce jig drifting into the perfect
18:11
spot and then dead sticking and then I miss em oh buggers
18:21
there we go I got one but honestly this feels like a white mass
18:27
and it is what in the deuce man oh I think these are just lone females
18:37
that are just hanging with crappie I don't know what are you doing by yourself
18:45
you're supposed to be in a big herd ugh
18:59
come here old spoon spoon fish guys my SD card just filled up
19:13
but I just dropped it at the base of a pillar all the way down there Nadine
19:21
come up and popped it and I was thinking oh man it's going to be another white bass
19:27

19:31
strigger we've been working hard out here that's the one I've been looking for

19:47
when you work this hard for em always nice nice to end on a big one
19:57
ended up with a nice little strigger crappie to feed the family some fresh golden
20:01
crispies go out and do it again hope you guys gathered something on fishing
20:05
under bridges today you actually don't have to have a bass boat to fish under bridges
20:11
in fact I saw guys fishing out of kayaks I saw someone
20:15
fishing out of an inner tube today so it's pretty easy access
20:19
to get up under there and there's always fish under bridges go ahead and give me a
