Hey all, Mikey from Rockin'K, and we have been busy doing all kinds of stuff, and now we really got to clean up
0:09
So we have to get these fields in order. We've got to get the firewood taken care of
0:15
So off we go. So, little sneak peek, that's what I did last week
0:39
And this week will be spent out on the fields. I have to get them cleaned up
0:45
I have to fix where I get stuck. Well, I didn't get stuck, but I almost did
0:51
And then I have to, all that firewood I did. I have to get that moved
0:57
So that's what this kind of week is going to. to be mama's off in Italy
1:03
she's enjoying some free time right now but then school is in
1:10
starting Monday so she flew in a couple of days early because that was the only time
1:15
she could get a flight and so she's got a couple of down days in
1:22
Italy I'm here left unsupervised so yeah let's go get to work. Yeah, this is just beat up. So I made a pass through here once already. You can see here
1:41
the roller on the back is smoothing it out. So let's see if we can straighten this all out
1:49
All right, folks. So it looks like we got this field fixed. So still a little ruddy, but a way, way, way, way better. Let me flip you around
2:00
So you can see when we started cutting it was way too soft down here
2:11
But the roller has been able to smooth out most of the ruts
2:16
And I chopped up all the grass that we weren't able to bail because we weren't even able to rake it because it was too wet down here
2:26
Today's the first day that I even chanced coming down here, and we're like two weeks later
2:33
But it's fixed, and now I just want to church up around a cherry tree
2:38
I'll show you a break. That cherry tree right there. You can see around the bottom is kind of nasty
2:50
So I want to clean that up really quick. And then as you can hear church bells are going So 630 I gotta put this thing up So we be back All right So now that we got the field cleaned up and let me flip you around
3:07
So this had all hay that was just too wet molding and all that
3:11
And well, you saw what I did with the corner down there. But this is all cleaned up
3:16
Hopefully we'll get another good growth. You can see the green coming through. I did kind of trash this field
3:24
It's unfortunate. but it'll grow back. But now I got all the firewood that I've been working on
3:31
Still got a big file of firewood. I got to get the firewood that I already have bundled up, organized
3:37
and get a lot of this stuff all cleaned up. So we have 40-some-odd bales of firewood
3:47
Some up there, some way out over there. And now I've got to do something with it, right
3:54
we got to get it off the ground we got to keep it dry and get it organized so i have a bunch of these pallets
4:07
now i was giving a thought and i'm like okay i could go by steel i can elevate it up i can do this or
4:15
that and then i'm like you know what i have these pallets and you know you know when i'm
4:24
put them to use it'll let me get it somewhat organized and yeah it's it's free for this year
4:34
then i can work i can work my solution later um whether i'm going to put it on steel whether i'm
4:42
going to put it on um wood uh beams or whatever uh i kind of would like to put it in the same
4:49
spot that I'm going to put it now. But overall, we'll see
4:58
You know, the more I think about it, the more I'm thinking about putting it in a different location because it just makes more sense
5:09
And the plan is to have a chicken coop up there, right
5:19
there and then we can just kind of fence this off for the chickens so if i put firewood there
5:29
we're going to run in one problem right but i can put it all along net fence and that kind of
5:38
makes sense um it's it's a better idea and it's probably
5:49
going to be a little easier because it more level but we see what mama thinks when she comes home from Italy She spoken about where she thinks the firewood should go and how it should go and stuff like that
6:09
But I think this is a better option right here along this fence because it's a little more level
6:18
And then I can approach it from this side, stack them all up, you know, all down along the fence
6:23
And this is a real hard area when it comes to wanting to do hay and stuff because it's all downhill
6:33
So if I'm coming up this hill bailing and then I have to eject the bell, I have to turn and eject the bell
6:41
Otherwise the bell wants to roll all the way down the field. So I think that's a better spot
6:48
So I got to get those pallets. get started getting them over there and get all this wood moved
6:59
So let's do this. All right, we did a little bit of cleanup work along the fence
7:05
We use the push-along weed whacker thing. He uses like weed whacker strength
7:13
We'll clean the little path here. I do have the mulcher, and the plan is later to make sure that we keep all the fence lines
7:23
all that thing run down. But we let it go too far this time around. Plus I didn't have the mulcher
7:32
The mulcher took more than two months to show up. Seems everybody wants them. But we got the fence line
7:40
at least on this side. We got it cleared off. And now I'll start with those pallets right here at the last post
7:50
and try to keep them somewhat level. I have all the pavers that we pulled up in the front
7:58
and the plan will be start here at this post and just keep working our way over
8:05
until we run out of wood, we run out of room. I think we're going to run out of wood, I hope
8:14
So time to move some pallets. So we got some pallets in their place
8:24
I left a little end there so I could clean up with the mulcher
8:29
And then I also left a path behind so I could go in with the weed whacker
8:35
and keep the grass off of the stuff. So we got one, two, three, four, five pallets set up
8:47
and now I'm just going to start trying to stack the wood on it
8:54
And you can see there the pavers underneath to keep them up out of the dirt and off the grass So that I don know maybe it last a year or two without the pallets rot down so now i got to move some some firewood and uh yeah let do this
9:14
all right y'all so we got everything done for the day the lawn for the doggies is all mode looks good
9:27
We're stacked. And you can hear in the distance, the church bells
9:35
So it is 6.30. We got a bunch done. Checked on the garden
9:42
We got everything's coming along. Everything's looking pretty good. The carrots are actually starting to come up
9:49
Maybe they'll take this time. The birds took them all last time. So
9:55
But that firewood, man. we got it all stacked and so the ones that were on this beam
10:04
they're gone and now I get to the gravel this is what's left of all those pallets
10:11
so not much we're gonna have to burn I was thinking about
10:17
whipping around the pit and burning tonight we got flip you around
10:26
We got this all mode up, got the firewood out of there, and put all that firewood over there
10:36
That is a lot of firewood folks. And it's only like half of what was delivered
10:47
Yeah. I'm going to need to figure out where to store the rest. But I'm going to put this one in the can
10:56
get it edited up, get it out to you. I do have other video that I need to get to you
11:02
Of course, when we did all the haying and stuff, I got to show you the equipment
11:15
It was all that stuff. I got to show you all that stuff
11:24
It was, yeah, it was an adventure. It was a learning experience. I'm not a farmer. Well, I guess you can call me a farmer now because I've bailed my hay. So, but I am going to close
