Hi everybody, welcome back to my channel. My name is Sally and I love to help women feel good over 50
0:06
Today's video is all about this look that I've created whilst hiding a little skin flare up that I'm going through
0:14
I'm going to share with you some products that I've found that have been fantastic for redness, for wrinkles
0:20
and for those blue, purple, dark shadows that we sometimes get. If you're new here I would love you to subscribe and hit that notification bell
0:30
I love to help women over 50 with health, wellness and beauty and all things looking
0:35
good and feeling great. Today I'm having a particularly bad day and I thought I'm going
0:41
to scare it, be vulnerable, no filters. This is me today, so it's Sunday, I can't remember the date
0:48
but this is post a really horrible flare that I had 10 days ago, almost 10 weeks ago
0:55
I just wanted to show you the products that I use which are really gentle on the skin so if you
1:00
suffer from redosia or breakouts, maybe menopausal breakouts or even a tressimo in purge retinol
1:07
when you have that kind of the ugly stage of retinol where your skin is breaking out and purging
1:13
then this is the video for you. Since 2017 very sporadically I will have a huge rash appear on my
1:21
chest, my face, sometimes the back of my hands and my neck. Nobody knows what it is, it's so
1:27
infrequent that we can't pinpoint an actual thing that has reacted or caused the same reaction
1:36
Something's going on but please watch my video that will be up later this week where I am going
1:41
to document my whole journey. So first up, I've always always loved to prepare my skin with good
1:49
moisturizers, hyaluronic acid, things that I've used for years. So before anybody says
1:54
is it a changing skin care, the answer is no, it definitely isn't. So I absolutely love
2:01
Ombre Olisse, Ombre Olisse Le Creme Concentrate or Concentre, it is absolutely my number one
2:08
product. I do not run out of it, in fact even at this stage I'm going to be looking to reorder
2:15
because I won't be without it. It is like nectar on the skin, it feels really velvety, it's the
2:22
perfect perfect foundation or base for your foundation. It's just filled with lovely
2:29
shea butter, it's got aloe vera so it's cooling, it's calming, it's beautiful. That's number one
2:37
The second thing that I highly recommend you use or get is Arborium. This is Arborium CC Cream
2:45
this one here is in their shade Clare. It is a skin care and base, so it's a CC cream and it's
2:54
got beautiful skin care products. So it's calming, it helps with pigmentation, it helps calm sensitive
3:02
skins and redness. The other thing which I am new to, which I am loving at the moment, is the
3:08
Arborium BB Cream. So this one is a thicker version, slightly more concentrated version, of their
3:15
regular BB cream. This one has been stained in it, it's got niacinamide I think, it is really really
3:21
good. I'm using the shade, let me just put my readers on here, Nude. So this is Nude and it is a
3:29
brilliant one for any kind of pimples or anything like that and also for dark shadows. Sorry, just
3:38
waiting for the camera to focus. The first step is, I am going to pop on the Umbre Elise, a tiny little
3:47
bit, don't need a lot. It is very rich, I do use this in the evening as well because I love it
3:53
and I'm going to pop that everywhere, all over my face and then with my ring fingers I'm just going
3:59
to pat that underneath my eyes. It will help with your fine lines and wrinkles as well. Get that
4:07
let me take these off because they're digging into my head. If anybody was interested in these readers
4:12
they're actually from Amazon. I know, trying to get away from my little mirror light, they are obviously
4:19
a little large but I quite like the retro, preppy look about them. I'll link up on the, underneath
4:26
this video for those but just that when you're looking for readers, they very often, they're just
4:31
that generic shape so it's nice to find something that's just a little bit different. So that's the
4:36
Umbre Elise on and next, and you can allow it to soak in but I found actually it works pretty much
4:43
instantly. Next, I'm actually going to use the Agorium and that's the CC Clean. Now this comes
4:51
about right and then it adjusts onto your skin, so I'll give myself a squeeze of that. You don't need a lot
5:00
so that will do and I'm going to pop that on all over. Look, you can feel something goes a long way
5:07
and then really rub it in, being gentle around your eyes and I do pop it around my eyes as well
5:15
I like to pat around my eyes, keeping things...is that ding-dong really irritating me
5:20
Let me just move that off my wrist. There we go, that better? Definitely if you've been sitting on
5:28
a headset or your earbuds then yeah, you've probably already switched off, thank god
5:33
Okay, so look at that. Look at that already. Now I'm not suddenly, you know, cover girl of Vogue
5:40
but I have just settled that down. How fabulous is that? I love this product. It's from Amazon
5:47
I'll link up below. Absolutely love that and just look and it really sits beautifully with the
5:54
Ombre Elise. I feel like the two together just make the skin feel so nice. It feels like velvet
6:00
on the skin but you can see it's just brought down that awful redness. The next thing I'm going to do
6:08
is use a tiny bit of the BB Cream. I will use this again after I've applied my foundation
6:15
So when I say tiny bit, trust me, I'm literally a tiny bit. So I'm going to warm that up with my
6:23
ring fingers. I'm just going to pat a little bit in the corner of my eyes and across my red bits
6:30
and then across my blue bits. I have got, it's quite hereditary but being a natural blonde, blue-eyed
6:39
very fair, do get quite bluey-grey under eyes and makes you look quite tired. So look, can you see
6:46
how I'm being really gentle and I am just passing. It's where you've got the darkness, that's where
6:52
it should be going. Right, the next product which I wanted to show you that I'm loving at the moment
6:57
is this foundation that was recommended as a dupe for Dior Forever. I can't remember the foundation
7:04
name, I will remember it. But this is Wet n Wild Foundation. It's the dewy illuminating one
7:11
photo focus. It's absolutely gorgeous, really really good for older skins. It's a medium coverage
7:19
it's a glass bottle which I like but it's got this silly little, go plastic applicator. But it is
7:26
quite liquid, you don't need a lot. Pop that on. I will use my fingers again and all I'm going to
7:34
do, I know I keep looking at myself but I'm looking at myself in the camera as opposed to
7:39
my mirror. So let me look in the mirror. There we go, how's that looking? Nice, right? That yellow
7:45
is from my lamp. I'm not yellow, sorry. It's the lamp. Look at that. Yes, it's a medium coverage
7:55
yes you can still see my texture and tone underneath but it's definitely better. So I've
8:01
turned that lamp off because it is giving me a rather strange jaundiced cheek and now you can
8:06
see the colours a little bit better. I'm now going to put some bronzer. I'm going to give myself a
8:12
dusting of bronzer. Now a little top tip, if you're going hollow around your temples, that I am, you
8:18
know, 54 years old, these are the sort of things that start to happen, then what I suggest is be
8:23
careful of putting anything too dark in this area. Your eyes are fine, anything that's dark will pull
8:29
away, anything that's lighter will pull out. So what we want to do is give the illusion of plumpness
8:35
and youth and rejuvenation but what we don't want to do is cause anything that perhaps is
8:42
cinching in a little bit, lines and wrinkles or hollowing, to look worse or accentuate it by
8:48
making them look darker. So the bronzer that I'm using is the classic Chanel. It is the lighter of
8:55
the Les Beiges and I've just got a regular bronzer brush. I'm going to go across my forehead, all the
9:05
way down, a bit of colour there, across my cheeks, into my cheekbones. I like to smile so I can see the
9:13
apples of my cheeks and across my chin and jaw. That just gives me a little bit of glow. So now I'm
9:22
ready to do my eyes. I'll put my blusher on a little bit later. So I've just done a nice base
9:29
Now I'm going to use an eye palette by Revolution. This is it, it's called Nudes. Wait for it to focus
9:37
there we go. Ultimate Nudes. I've used it a couple of times. It's a nice palette. So the one that I'm
9:42
going to use is this one here which is like a heather and this neutral little nude there. I won't be
9:50
using any of the glitters. I'm going to the garden centre. So it's not particularly a busy Sunday. I'm not
9:56
doing anything special. I just wanted to show you my makeup. So with a nice soft brush, I have got
10:03
quite, they're not terrible, but I have got hooded eyes. You can see. But they, you know, I'm being
10:10
realistic. I know they're not terrible but I have got hooding happening. So what I like to do is bring
10:17
my darker shade higher up which will give the appearance of more space here. So it's a little
10:25
trick. So I'm going to go in with this darker shade first of all. I'm going to tap off the excess and I'm
10:31
going to come quite high. Oh it's a nice colour. Really quite high up and just making sure that I don't
10:40
go too far down because that will give the appearance of the eye coming down. And then I'm
10:45
just going to go just to the edge and the same on the other side. My eyes tested the other day and
10:53
my eye test from my previous one which was last year was wrong and I could tell it was wrong
10:58
because my eyes were constantly almost fighting each other. So I had my eyes tested on Friday
11:04
retested and I said yes the strength that I've been described was incorrect. I'm short-sighted
11:10
and then I'm going long-sighted and so it feels like my eyes are constantly fighting each other
11:16
Oh it's been a nightmare. So I have these multi-focal contact lenses which are okay
11:23
but I'm finding even now I'm struggling a little bit. So I just was really happy to get them tested
11:30
again and to find out I wasn't going mad but my prescription was wrong. Right so that is the
11:36
darker shade. Now I'm just going to go in with that lighter shade and pop it onto my what they
11:44
call the movable lid which is this bit right up to your lash line and the same on this side
11:50
On the brow bone I'm going to do something a little bit lighter still just so that we don't
11:56
give the appearance of them coming down at all. And I'm going to go with this very pale, this is
12:02
one from e.l.f. It's a nice little palette but it's quite old. I don't think they sell it anymore
12:08
but it's a neutral palette. I think I've got it from Coupe Max. So that is my eyes almost done
12:16
So going back to this colour here I'm going to just pop a little line of that under my eyes
12:24
So this is just a liner brush and I'm just going to just kind of like flick it up because I don't
12:30
really feel like I want to have a load of that liner underneath my eyes today. That's it and then
12:36
there's this colour this is a little bit darker it looks a bit red let's try it. I'm going to just
12:41
pop that across my lash line just dusting it again I'm not going anywhere particularly. There you go
12:50
quite like that, it's alright isn't it? So I'm going to just have a quick tidy up. I've got this
12:56
concealer brush so I'm just going to quickly tidy that up. So the mascara that I'm going to use
13:01
today is the Maybelline Sky High. I really like it. I like this spoolie, it's one of those
13:09
rubber ones. I quite like these but it gives a really nice coverage straight away. I do like it
13:16
I'm just going to pop that on. I'll do as much as I can on camera and I'll do the rest off camera
13:22
There we go. So I've applied my mascara and I'm just going to do my brows. So for my brows I'm
13:29
using an It Cosmetic, it's a double-ended brow pencil and spoolie. I really like this one. I
13:37
find it's so creamy. It's a really nice one. So I'm just going to pop that through my brows
13:44
quickly. There you go, that went off. Brush it through and that will give a nice
13:52
diffused look. So now I'm just going to pop on a little bit of blusher before I forget. This one
13:57
I will use from Beauty Pie. It's a really lovely peaky, I quite like the peaky colours. I'm going
14:03
to pop that on my cheekbone and then bring it down. Big smile all the way across the apples of my cheeks
14:12
That's my blusher and for my lips I'm going to use something really, really neutral. I've got a very
14:17
old Becca lip tint, you can't get this anymore. There you go, that's my makeup done. I have to sort
14:24
this hair out. I am off to the garden centre to find a pot for a crazy monstera. I tried to do it
14:30
yesterday, still haven't managed to find the right pot but I just wanted to talk anybody through
14:36
anybody that maybe is 50 plus, I'm 54 just for your reference, that is maybe going through some
14:42
skin challenges and just to recommend these three products. So that once again was the BB Cream
14:49
by Arborium. It was a super BB Cream. The CC Cream by Arborium and the West and Wild absolutely
14:59
loved this one foundation and not forgetting as a makeup base the Andree Elise which is just
15:08
superb. That's it. I hope you enjoyed this video. It was just a kind of a random get ready with me
15:15
Seems appropriate as somebody that works in the beauty and aesthetics industry dealing with skin
15:20
all the time, I'm having a skin struggle. Let me talk about it. Let me be really clear that skin
15:27
oxygen, wrinkles, dark shadows, pigmentation are all normal and if we constantly hold ourselves
15:34
to a standard that is nearly nigh on impossible to improve, we're never going to be happy with
15:39
ourselves. So find products that you can use that will make you happy with your skin. Stop looking
15:46
at photo shops and filtered images and just enjoy being you and if these products can help you feel
15:53
a bit more confident, then go for it. I'll link everything below. Until next time, have an amazing day
