Alright, alright. You know we are starting with the skin care prep before makeup
0:05
But let me put my headband on because I think this is like so cute
0:10
What a peculiar moment in this video we are going to be doing skin care prep before makeup
0:16
Okay so if you are wondering what I mean, if you're wondering why I do that
0:22
if you're just curious or you just love me, you know stick around and watch the video
0:27
Okay now we are very close up. I want you to comment below and let me know if you like this
0:32
close up simulation. Headband rigs and headband are linked in the description below
0:39
It comes in a pack. I've done a video on it for two or three, who knows, they're all over
0:44
Thank you and I'll see you soon. I showered, washed my face and to keep it hydrated before sitting down
0:50
I did spray my face with an essence. It's a spray that's hydrating essentially
0:54
So first thing is you want to make sure that your skin is being hydrated at all times before you
0:58
seal everything in just through a moisturizer. And if you want an oil but for the daytime
1:02
I don't do the oil. I do the oil at the nighttime. I'm going to get into all that in a second
1:06
So I've been spraying my face with an essence. I was feeling it was even different in my bathroom
1:10
So here in the studio, I was spraying my face with this Mario Badescu facial spray
1:15
All the essences that I tried are good. Hydrated skin is always in
1:19
You want to make sure your skin is hydrated. This one doesn't get as hot necessarily
1:23
but it's helping to keep my skin hydrated. I've done nothing else to my skin but spray
1:28
these essences on them to make it stay pink. Just to make sure I get the hydration going
1:33
I've got my facial steamer, very, very important. Now the facial steamer, I've got a question, I have two of them by the way. One is black in my bathroom and this one
1:40
is slightly pink. I've got two. Why not? You know, Amazon, there's a photo
1:44
Do I use a steamer every time that I do makeup? I do not. Okay, the steamer I normally reserve
1:49
for the evening time because it's so soothing. It's like a spa. Why not treat yourself
1:53
But I want to show you this steamer because I use it and I don't have very many skincare videos
1:58
on YouTube so I wanted to show you how I use this steamer, okay? You know, after I steam
2:02
and do my skin, I just want to go to sleep. Okay, so if you want anything to actually do your
2:06
makeup, I wouldn't recommend a steamer but now how often do I steam and how I feel like it
2:11
To me, there's no right or wrong. Of course, again, skin and experiences are different
2:14
But I come in a studio to do makeup, okay? So you may be doing the makeup in the same
2:18
space that you saw, which is the bathroom or in your bedroom. So your drying time
2:22
the setting time for the skincare will be different. The purpose of a steamer is to
2:27
help keep the skin hydrated. It feels good. Again, it feels like a spa at home. So make sure you can
2:33
distil water. Very important. Use tap water. The cartridges on the inside will be filthy
2:39
It's just clothes. So if you want to do extra, go ahead and steam. If you don't, you don't have to. It's a really powerful steam. It hasn't burned me, although I've heard someone say they've got
2:46
burned. Well, you must have been right here, okay? Don't be having this thing right here
2:50
Make sure you're turning your head left and right and then also looking all the way down
2:54
because you want to make sure you're also seeing your forehead. Products are going to absorb
2:58
better into your skin when your skin is hydrated. The products are not going to absorb as well
3:03
if your skin is dry. That's why my hygiene story, I'm always telling y'all to keep your face
3:08
hydrated after you shower. Of course, you want to make sure you have on lip cream, lip gloss, lip tactic, lip something. I already have something on, but I was going to put on
3:15
the Fresh Rose Petal Soft Liquid. I want to try it out. And this does last, the steamer does last
3:21
a while, you'll see. So this is my first time trying this Fresh product. I do have another
3:26
set of products in my bathroom, FYI. This one is not giving me a dew like I usually like with my
3:33
lip creams or lip products. The first one I like to use is the L'Amuse Cajun Mask, and that is dewy
3:39
and occlusive. This one is not. Let's see how it feels after this. Okay, so it's daytime
3:43
and at daytime I like to use vitamin C. I just go by the vitamin C serum. Vitamin C is best used
3:48
in the morning time of day. Let's see how my face. And I've gotten a lot better at making sure that
3:56
I don't stretch my face with the rubber. That was a learning curve. It's all good. Other mission
4:01
avoiding the eyes, you want me to put a vitamin C serum on your eyes. I do a variation of rubbing
4:07
it in and patting it in just because sometimes when you're rubbing too much, it could really
4:12
break up the product. But of course, this is the first or second time I'm using this product
4:17
so nothing's going to break up, but it's a habit. Oh, I forgot to bring a roller
4:22
like a roller ball. You can really do it if you want to. That makes it a little extra. Okay
4:26
so using the steamer and adding the roller ball is really extra. You don't gotta do all of that
4:32
and I don't do all of that every day because I don't have time to do that. And honestly
4:36
with this skin care routine, I do it even if I'm not doing makeup. Okay, so although I told
4:42
this to me to prep for makeup, your skin care, regardless if you're putting on makeup afterwards
4:48
is very important. Okay, eye cream of course. Many don't really care about eye cream, but I do
4:53
I'm using the Tatcha Silk's Peony eye cream. Again, I have to get that in my bathroom. I like
4:59
this one because you'll see it's got an iridescence to it. It is so beautiful. I need to save my face
5:06
again. The beginning of the month is almost here, and I save at the top of the month
5:11
and I save my root. Obviously, I don't look like a grocery there, but I know the difference
5:16
And my skin is completely raw, and I just love it. I don't have any bad reactions to shaving
5:23
And if you want to save your face, do it only if you feel comfortable. And then that's all
5:27
Okay, I'm very smooth and soft, not too much pressure. And you want to apply, you should do
5:31
a little patting motion. You don't have to rub your products in until they're dry. That is not
5:37
necessary. Just apply them and let them really sink into the skin on their own. And depending on
5:43
how I'm feeling, I might do two serums. But for this routine, I'm going to do two of them. And
5:48
when I do two serums, it does not affect my makeup. So don't feel like, oh, I can't put all
5:53
that on. You know, my face will look crazy with makeup on. It won't. It'll look very hydrated
5:56
okay? And if you're wondering how that affects your makeup, make sure you watch my video on
6:00
primer. I discuss all of that. Then the last step is going to be a moisturizer. Moisturizer is very
6:06
important. No matter if you want to look matte or hydrated, you've got to moisturize. I'm using
6:11
this one. It's got SPF 50 in it. Make sure during the daytime, even on a cloudy day like it is right
6:17
now, I am in Houston, you want to still be using moisturizer with SPF. Or you can go separate. You
6:22
can put moisturizer on and then extra fun separately. You can see, I do that sometimes as well
6:26
Okay, so now the serum is done. And of course, that took me a lot longer than usual because I'm
6:31
talking and going through. So as you can see, skin is hydrated, SPF is on, no problem. This
6:38
thing looks crazy all year. I need some tomato. I need some tomato too. I need some tomato
6:44
All right, and that's it. That is it. So usually, I do this skin routine in my bathroom. And then
6:51
by the time that I make my way to the studio, fix my hair, whether I'm going to have drug on the
6:55
edges, palette down, do any number of things. By the time I actually put my primer on my face
7:01
which I still use, although I still like it, but usually you need to use primer for makeup. The
7:06
time between I finish all of this and putting on my makeup is sometimes 15, 20 minutes, 30 minutes
7:12
10 minutes. It depends on what I'm doing. So this does have a chance to really absorb into the skin
7:19
at least a bit before going on with the makeup. Very, very rarely do I do this and then jump right
7:26
into makeup. Especially if I'm sitting here in the studio and filming a video. But I normally do my
7:30
skincare in the bathroom and then there is time for it to all absorb. So in fact, it is helpful to
7:36
know if you feel like you need a tinted hair, you're so seedy, you're too wet or something like that
7:40
give it some time. Do something else, prep your hair and then do your makeup. But of course, make
7:45
sure you are in primer. I want you to comment below and let me know if you feel it was helpful for you
7:49
Also, make sure you let me know if you do all of this or any of this before makeup. Like are you
7:56
taking care of your skin before makeup? Or are you just washing your face and jumping in the
8:00
steam here? I want to know. If you do a lot of it, I have a lot of concerns, but I still want you to
8:05
comment. Call yourself out down below and let me know. Okay? Make sure you are subscribed and as
8:10
always, thanks for watching. Bye
