Louie and I are throwing big 10/9 stagger Esox Assault bucktails (and Medussas) for late summer Eagle Lake muskies. A lot of the musky we were contacting later in the day were on mid lake rock reefs. The fish were especially prevalent on the wind blown side of the structures we were fishing.

Well it's our last Eagle Lake video from 2023 and thankfully we get to go back and do this all again in 122 days, 5 hours, 11 minutes and 31 seconds
0:31
What's going on everybody, my name is Brian, you're watching Angling Anarchy
0:35
and as I said this is our last video from our August trip to Eagle Lake
0:40
There was just so much other fishing that we did between then and now that I've kind of been spacing out the Eagle Lake stuff
0:47
This is the last one and as I mentioned also we get to go back for the opener June 15th so be looking forward to that
0:55
This particular day starts out rough and I mean that in many ways
1:03
The fishing was tough, the waves really kicked up, we were putting up with some really high winds out of the southwest
1:10
and the section of Eagle Lake that we're on is tough to fish once you get a southwest wind
1:15
So we bailed on the morning, went out in the afternoon, had a bunch of encounters with fish and finally did put one in the boat
1:23
So without further ado, here's some more musky fishing from Eagle Lake in Ontario
1:45
There's a fish. Feels like a good one. Might just be a big pike, I don't know
1:53
Well that's a pike, never mind
2:06
Ah, tricked, tricked. Yeah, not the only one getting tricked
2:16
Man look how they eat those things though. The way your rod looks. Yeah, you head shot it man
2:24
A lot bigger than that. Alright buddy. Oh yeah, he really gulped that thing down
2:33
I don't know if it's just because you're pulling the bait from the side at that point that it feels like there's so much more substantial
2:41
but, I mean man that's, he's not giant or anything but, he's bleeding a little bit
2:48
There you go buddy. Oh man, I thought we were in business there
3:18
Oh, let's see here, I wonder what we should do with these guys
3:30
I think so, yeah. Yep
3:46
And I have a little, like a little fan that I run just in case
3:55
Oh, are you kidding me? She missed it, she missed it
4:13
Are you joking? Oh, that hurts
4:27
She came back for round two. Might have been a different fish
4:34
We're on the other side of this thing. Not that it's very big but, how do you miss that
4:45
God, freaking fish. Alright man, the old power hour here
5:05
The old power hour. Okay, that's off. There's a fish
5:43
Got him, got him. Okay
6:08
Nope, nope, nope. Okay, here we go, here we go. Nope. Okay, okay, here we go, here we go. In
6:20
Nicely done dude. Nicely done. Yep, yep, yep
6:30
That was cool. Did you get him? Yep. Okay, good. Alright, well, it's the last hour of our trip and we've moved four or five fish in the last
6:43
hour previous to this so the activity seemed to be ramping up
6:47
Came to this spot, I honestly think it was the first cast on the spot dude and she crunched
6:53
that buck tail. I might have to unhook her still quick. Hopefully she's not hooked up
6:59
Might have to unhook her still quick. Hopefully she behaves. Okay. Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep. Gotcha. Boom. Boom. Okay
7:14
Come here girl. Oh man. Another beautiful eagle lake fish. Ah, these things are just so awesome
7:22
So awesome. Alright, we got the bump board wetted down. Get a real quick measurement of this spunky girl. There
7:33
Just short of 45, 44 and three quarters. So just a beautiful fish though
7:38
Oh, look at that. But, so we don't have much time and if they're going, we better take advantage of what Eagle
7:46
Lake is going to give us in our last day here. So, let's send her on her way and get back to casting man
7:55
Let's get another one. Come on girls
8:07
Give us a banger to go out on here. Yep
8:21
She came up a little bit lazy. Yeah, she's under the boat
8:26
You can see her right there. Alright folks, well that concludes our stay at Cold Grove Eagle Lake Lodge and I'm in one
9:04
of the cabins right now. So, we're getting ready to pack up and head back to southern Wisconsin
9:12
So, oh and so tired. I mean, eight days of doing what we just did
9:19
It'll drain just about anybody, but started off with a bang. I couldn't ask for better fishing those first two days and then it just fell right off a cliff
9:30
Some, probably the toughest four days of musky fishing I've had out here, which is saying
9:34
something because Eagle Lake is notoriously tough. It is a tough body of water
9:41
Ended with eight fish. Louie got one. Nate and his cousin got, I think, three
9:47
So, yeah, really tough. A bunch of trophy pike. I mean, we got all sorts of pike over three foot, you know, between that 36 and 40 inch
9:54
but as cool fish as they are, it's not what we're looking for
9:58
We're really looking for muskies, but another amazing trip to Cold Groves
10:04
If you're looking for a place to stay on Eagle Lake, highly recommend these guys. I will leave their particulars in the description below, but yeah, ended up with one tonight
10:14
A couple other opportunities. Louie had one bump of bait. I had one bump of bucktail
10:20
We had one take a real hard swing and miss at a medusa, so, you know, quarter inch either way
10:26
and we had a four fish night, but that's how musky fishing works, people
10:31
If you've done it long enough, you know it, and if you're new to the sport, buckle up and get ready
10:36
because as fun as it can be, sometimes it's frustrating, and we certainly experienced that this week
10:43
But with that, I need to get some rest because we have a long drive ahead of us
10:47
I appreciate every single one of you watching this mess, and I'll see you on the next video. You
