Oklahoma City Thunder Clinch 2025 NBA Championship
HISTORY MADE! The Oklahoma City Thunder are NBA Champions for the first time since moving from Seattle! What an absolutely incredible Game 7 performance as the Thunder defeated the Indiana Pacers 103-91 to capture their first championship in franchise history. This young, explosive team has officially arrived on basketball's biggest stage. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was absolutely unstoppable when it mattered most, dropping 29 points and dishing out 12 assists to claim Finals MVP honors. The man who already took home regular season MVP this year proved he's ready to carry this franchise to greatness. But let's talk about rookie sensation Chet Holmgren - this kid just set a new Game 7 record with 5 blocks! The defensive anchor this team needed, showing poise beyond his years on the biggest stage in basketball. The Pacers fought valiantly but suffered a crushing blow when Tyrese Haliburton went down with what appeared to be an Achilles injury early in the game. Our thoughts are with Haliburton and hoping for a speedy recovery. This championship caps off one of the most dominant seasons in NBA history - the Thunder's 68 regular season wins set a new franchise record and proved this wasn't just a fluke run. At such a young age, this Thunder core has unlimited potential. With SGA leading the way and Holmgren anchoring the defense, Oklahoma City could be looking at the start of a dynasty.
