Hi, I'm Joost and I'm here today with the Suavecito Original vs. Firm Hold
0:03
If you compare them side by side you just see a little difference. The skeleton is the same, but the Firm Hold is a little bit more orange than the darker brown of the Original Hold
0:14
So if you're going to buy this in a shop, make sure you get the right one for your needs
0:18
And you can also see the texture on the inside... ...is just a little bit different
0:28
So this is the Original Hold, this is the Firm Hold. And the Firm Hold really is a lot stickier than the Original Hold
0:38
It really is, even on your hands. It smells like a little sea breeze, just like the Original Hold does
0:45
But this hold really holds my hair up perfectly, as you can see
0:51
And it is a really wet hold, a really wet finish. Even a little bit more than the Original Hold
0:57
And it really sticks to your fingers. So you have to make sure that you divide that up across your hands evenly
1:02
So you don't get any lumps. And it really is a very wet hold. So it's a little more towards the gel side of things
1:08
But you can still go through your hair and mix it up a little. It will not get crunchy or anything
1:13
Now this type of pomade is great for a wet look. And I can also do long hair like that of my son's
1:18
Just to make sure that it will stay to the side or a little bit up. That way it will stay in shape all day
1:24
So you just need a little bit and it will already be enough. I think the Firm Hold is still a little bit better for longer hair than for short spiky hair
1:32
To get it in the right shape. Even though this really does have a lot firmer hold
1:37
But it's great to get like a slick look for longer hair. And a slick back look even if you want and get that wet finish
1:44
It smells almost like a gel. A little sea breeze. It's a little sea breeze smell to me
1:53
As you can see it holds my hair up pretty well. I like to wear my hair up and spiky
1:58
And the Original Hold, well it has a little bit of an issue holding the hair at the back up
2:04
The substance is quite jiggly and soft. And if you rub this across your hands a little
2:10
That'll make sure that you don't get any lumps. Now what I like to do is to spread this out across my hands just a little bit
2:17
And then I like to use this on the top of my hair. Just make sure that it's evenly divided
2:22
And then just take a little bit extra and do the back and sides of my hair
2:26
Just to make sure that it holds in place all day. Now this is a mild hold
2:31
So it's not the best for my short and spiky hair and thin hair
2:35
But it did wonders for my son's hair which is a little bit longer. To keep that into place and to the side
2:41
And that worked all day while he played. Now the advantage of this pomade is that you can re-sculpt it during the day
2:47
And your hair doesn't get hard like with gels. But you still have a little bit of that wet gel texture
2:53
Now I recommend this pomade for anyone looking to get a wet finish
2:58
Without like the crunchiness of a gel. And it still has a mild hold
3:02
So it's not perfect for those really specific spikes. But it is perfect for a little bit longer hair that you want to keep in place
3:10
Now the ingredients are mostly the same. But there's the addition of aminomethyl..
3:16
Pro... Proganol. Aminomethyl proganol. So that's in the perm hold but not in the original hold
3:22
And the rest of the ingredients seem the same. Of course the mixture can differ between the two
3:27
So a little bit more of some ingredients and a little bit less of others. But the working substance here seems to be the aminomethyl propanol
