Uh when the '90s hit you, you you you
0:02
started with Doro, right?
0:04
Yeah. In 93.
0:06
93. And you are how many? 32 years now.
0:12
32. Yeah.
0:13
Wow, man. That's uh so that's your
0:16
that's your biggest uh probably your
0:19
lifetime achievement, right? I mean, oh,
0:22
it's I mean, it's pretty amazing to
0:25
stay, you know, in any band for a long
0:29
length of time, but the fact that, um,
0:32
Doro celebrated her 40-year anniversary,
0:36
stage anniversary, and it was my 30th
0:40
year in the band. So, it's like crazy to
0:43
think that I've been with her, you know,
0:45
3/4 of her career.
0:48
Yeah. Um, but you know, that's just a
0:50
testament to her
0:53
her power and her longevity and the fact
0:56
that she's been cool enough to keep me
0:58
around for so long.
0:59
Yeah. Amazing. You guys are great
1:03
partners in in crime.
1:05
She's she's amazing singer. Uh, and you
1:08
probably play on on I don't know some of
1:12
my favorite albums from her. Uh, do you
1:16
wait when was uh I remember I I liked
1:19
that uh that pop metal kind of album
1:22
Cool Love, but I don't remember which
1:25
year was that?
1:26
Was that on the the Doro record that uh
1:29
Jean Simmons produced or was that on
1:32
True and Heart? Now I can't even
1:35
uh um
1:36
it was cool. The album was called Cool
1:39
Love, but it was uh like a like a black
1:42
white portrait of her.
1:45
It It was early It was early '90s.
1:48
Yeah, maybe like 1990 or 91
1:52
probably. But it was like a pop metal,
1:55
but it was a good one.
1:57
Yeah, she did I mean um it's kind of
2:00
ahead of her time. She did a record in
2:02
Nashville before any
2:04
rock people were really going there. Now
2:07
it's like a, you know, all these rock
2:10
people live there and do
2:12
all kinds of stuff there. But Doro, you
2:15
know, she was always kind of branching
2:16
out once she Warlock kind of was over
2:20
and she kind of went solo and um she
2:24
just liked to experiment and try a lot
2:27
of different things and uh yeah,
2:30
so she, you know, she did that record in
2:33
Nashville with some big names and uh
2:37
yeah, some great songs on on there, too.
2:40
Yeah. Yeah. Love it. Love it. Uh, so are
2:44
you maybe recording now something with
2:47
Doro or
2:49
uh Well, she
2:51
I personally not. I mean, Doro works in
2:55
a little bit of a different way as a as
2:58
a solo artist. she,
3:01
you know, if she finds somebody that she
3:03
kind of vibes with, she may, you know,
3:07
she's got a producer, uh, Andreas Brun
3:11
who lives in Hamburg and, um, she works
3:14
with him a lot, just oneon-one.
3:18
Yeah.
3:18
And they'll come up with songs and and
3:21
act sometimes actually record them and
3:24
finish them all in one, you know, with
3:27
program drumming and whatnot. and I may
3:31
learn that, you know, song at some point
3:34
and then replace drums or do whatever.
3:37
But a lot of the records are done sort
3:41
of like when when she has time to go do
3:43
a few songs, she'll do that and then she
3:45
gets back on tour or she's got other
3:48
things going on. So we never really know
3:51
what the recording schedule will be, you
3:54
know, but we've done some,
3:57
you know, we've had a few songs which we
3:59
wrote all together as a band just
4:01
sitting in the room jamming and that,
4:04
you know, like on the fight album, if
4:07
you're familiar with that. There was a
4:08
couple band songs on there and and or
4:12
she just takes submissions from each
4:14
band guy as far, hey, do you have any
4:17
riffs? you know, I like that one. Let me
4:19
write some lyrics to it. And
4:22
so, it's, you know, it's different. It's
4:24
not like a band that, you know, okay,
4:26
like we got 10 songs. Let's go in and
4:29
rehearse them for a week and then go in
4:31
the studio. It's like usually, you know,
4:34
it's made in a different way, but it's
4:36
still, you know, she's got a good sense
4:39
of how to put it all together in the end
4:41
and package it
4:43
really nicely for the fans. She loves
4:45
doing that part of it. and making it
4:47
special. And that's something that she's
4:50
really really got a talent for.
